Mr Lifter's

"Tim and the rest of the Mr. Lifters team were great to work with on our foundation replacement project. Our upstairs floors were very uneven (i.e. ~4 inches of sloping from south to north end of house) and our flooring contractor recommended we discuss with basement foundation experts about how to address before proceeding with upstairs flooring. We spoke with several local foundation contractors about our situation, and it was apparent that our foundation was in poor condition and at risk of further deterioration in any future rainy periods. We determined that the best course of action for the long-term health of our historic house was to completely replace the existing 100-year-old foundation. Since our original basement was only 6 feet high, we wanted to dig down an extra 2+ feet and add egress windows to add livable square footage so that the substantial project cost would translate to a higher property value. There are only two contractors in Rapid City that offer to dig out and re-pour a foundation while the homeowners can continue to live in the house and maintain services (i.e. plumbing, air conditioning, etc.) throughout the project. We obtained bids from both and they were very comparable. The difference came down to who we preferred to work with a project of our size and scope. If I am investing this level of money into a project, I want to work with someone who is responsive and attentive. That is where Tim easily separated from his competition. He quickly provided a very detailed quote with pictures, floor plans and pricing details. This type of quote and contract made it very easy for me to work with the Historic Preservation Commission. Once our project started, Tim stopped by our house almost daily to check on the progress of the project and answer questions/concerns from us and his team. There were multiple occasions where Tim was personally working on something in our basement late on a Friday, which demonstrated his commitment to a quality work product. I cannot say enough good things about the Mr. Lifters team and their willingness to help in so many areas (even “above and beyond” requests like hauling away my non-project garbage, saving our garden planter box even though it slowed their progress, and hauling my new landscape rock and dirt). It was a great learning experience and Tim and the Mr. Lifters team were so positive, responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. Their work product was outstanding and we are so pleased with the overall outcome."
