Reviews of Rail Yards Market
"The coolest place for locals and visitors alike. Fresh produce, foods, food trucks, and art all in a HUGE indoor/outdoor environment."
"Visiting from out of state, this is one of the coolest farmers' markets I've ever experienced and a highlight of my trip! There's a large selection of vendors selling produce, street food, beverages, plants, clothing, art, sculptures, and more, representative of the diverse neighborhood community and celebrating New Mexican culture. Can easily spend an hour here taking it all in. For me, the real stars of the show were the industrial rail yard buildings themselves. Most of my time here was spent just admiring the architecture. From chatting with a security guard, I learned that the buildings are a popular filming location and that both Terminator and Transformers had scenes that were shot here. You can visit the building in the back (the largest one) to see what it looks like in an untouched/abandoned state. A banner on one of the buildings states the Rail Yards will soon become home to a new media academy for filmmaking, which I can get behind."
"I have been to the Grower’s Market many time but this was the first at Rail Yard. There is definitely a different vibe. We like going to the growers market, getting food with the pups, and sitting on a blanket to enjoy the day. The rail yard is much bigger and split between produce and more of a makers market on each side. From what I understand they have added seating, restrooms, and expanded. Lots of things to see, taste, drink, and eat. They also allow animals which is nice."
"It's an Albuquerque experience. It's great fun to see all the local vendors. It was nice to find the first building open with a place to sit down out of the sun and watch the artists getting more picnic tables ready. Clean restrooms too."
"More time could be spent if only there were someplace to sit when tired. Wide variety of local baked goods. Prices on produce seemed high--$10 for a dozen eggs! And they weren't even gold plated. I did buy some fresh cider, pan dulce, and pecan brittle. All were wonderful choices."
