"If you're looking for a good service at a great price, please visit the students at ABC, they need as much experience as possible while in school! Ladies, the school offers ladies cuts, perms and color services at great prices as well! My grandpa used to take me to ABC when I was just a little guy. I never thought I'd one day be a student. I attended and graduated from ABC (as a class alpha) the summer of 2022 and my wife graduated in the fall of 2017. We now run a successful barber shop in Grants, NM with the skills and knowledge we obtained from Pierre and the constant encouragement of Viola. There are 4 shops in our town and every barber working graduated from ABC. Most of the barbers that have retired here were also ABC graduates. Does Pierre make school tough and uncomfortable? Of course! Real learning and growth only happens when you get out of your comfort zone! Like or dislike his teaching methods, but they are effective in preparing students for the realities of working as a barber. Viola and Pierre are a great team and my wife and I would highly recommend ABC to anyone thinking about becoming a barber. Hell, if you were thinking of going to cosmetology school, you should become a barber instead! You'll be getting 2x the experience for 1/2 the price of other schools. And if you pay attention and do the work, you WILL be prepared for a long career as a barber. He isn't going to give it to you, you'll have to earn it. So get off the fence, get into Albuquerque Barber College, and tell them Levi and Hailey sent you! ~Burress Barber Shop, LLC~"
"I've been going to the ABC for years. I enjoy meeting the young people embarking on careers and I really like the owner. At first glance he appears a bit rough on some students but once you get to know him it's done with his own brand of humor. He reminds me of a history teacher I had in HS. Tough shell but tender hearted. I grew to appreciate his teaching style. I always leave with a smile and a great haircut!"
"I’ve been coming to the Barber college since I was 8 years old. The students do an amazing job and the instructors are phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and if you come often enough, they will even remember your name. It’s amazing to think that Pierre has been training the next generation of barbers for over 30+ years. If you have concerns about a student cutting your hair, fear not as the instructors will make sure you look sharp."
"I've been to the barber college twice to get my hair done and the students have not disappointed. They strive for perfection and become very precise when cutting people's hair. The students are also very social and friendly and make comfortable small talk with the customers. The prices are very reasonable and they do many requested hairstyles. I recommend the barber college when you need your hair cut"
"Been coming here for 15 years and love this place. All work is performed by students so there is a learning curve. However, the head instructor Pierre truly cares about his students success and will intervene quickly if they make a mistake. This place is a total win-win because you get a good haircut at a reasonable price ($6.50) while helping future barbers learn their trade."
