"I would rate 0 stars if I could. being in a hospital -like setting is already stressful, especially for sensitive reasons. Having doctors and nurses who don't respect you as a person OR your body is not acceptable in the slightest. DO NOT go here if you want to feel even remotely valued as a person and patient! I highly suggest Lovelace hospital / center instead."
"Uncaring staff. Would not recommend. Both myself and my sister have had bad experiences, have not been taken seriously, and have suffered the consequences."
"I came in here to look at options for birth control. the insertion was terrible and painful, i went here again to get it removed. i was bleeding for a year straight, and had found out my iud was not inserted in the right place, causing this bleeding. the nurse who evaluated my removal talked me down from removing it, suggesting i had an std instead and that was causing my discomfort. i tested negative for any stds and went to a lovelace hospital to get it removed. extremely inconsiderate and dismissive of your pain and needs, run."
"They don't know anything about mental health/mental illnesses. Last year I went in for an appointment to try and get anxiety medication (that I'd been on for years before) and they told me I don't show symptoms of anxiety. A year later, I'm throwing up stomach acid 5-6 mornings a week because my anxiety is so severe, and I have trouble sleeping because I just end up shaking with anxiety. Hopefully they start offering dental care soon for when my teeth start rotting due to the acid! Also, shoutout to the receptionist lady who yelled at me for calling to ask for a COVID test on the weekend, and who has hung up on my friends mid-call."
"If you're a UNM student this is the place for you to get established with one of their many excellent primary care medical providers. Their ASAP clinic is a great clinic to get same day medical attention if needed. SHAC has so many amazing counselors that can be used for established care or if a student faces a crisis situation. Every single counselor I have interacted with has shown their caring and compassionate sides with the overall desire to ensure everyone is successful throughout their educational journey. There are so many other services that they offer to the student population from their allergy and immunization clinic or the travel clinic that can advise students traveling abroad. They even have a pharmacy for students, faculty, and staff!"
