Reviews of Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital
"Had to unexpectedly put my cat down today, but feeling very grateful for everyone at the clinic. I couldn’t have asked for a kinder response and compassionate professionalism from everyone there. Thank you so much."
"I can't even begin to explain my gratitude for all of those at Roadrunner. It was a Sunday afternoon when our dog was bit and needed emergency help. We called them and the woman who answered was so nice and calm, we made it to the hospital in about 30 minutes and right when we went in they were asking us questions and took our dog all within 2 minutes time. Everyone we spoke to was so professional and kind. We got our sweet girl back about 6 hours later ready to go home. They were extremely clear about pricing, providing an estimate of both a high and low end prior to everything and to our surprise it turned out to be even lower than the low end. For just the short time that I was in that waiting room I told myself I could never do what these people do. They see such awful trauma and handled everything that came in with such efficiency and calmness. I was truly in awe and will be forever grateful for everyone there."
"Waited over 3 1/2 hours for my cat Who is an obvious respiratory distress to be seen. Finally left. They said they had not done anything with him yet because they were just “ “monitoring him”. had I known he just sat back there for 3 1/2 hours I would’ve left sooner. Here I am today at the vet in Albuquerque, and he is very critical barely alive in respiratory failure. In response to your post, I left after 3 1/2 hours of monitoring. Nasal discharge? Had you done a exray and seen the cancer through his entire lungs and chest , maybe he would have been prioritized. He sat back there suffering for 3 1/2 hours, unable to breathe. There was no reason for it . I do not recommend you . Update. He died."
"My sheepadoodle got into some chocolate filled croissant dough last night and I was mortified. I called the Road Runner clinic and they walked me through the steps of what I needed to get my boy seen. We waited a few hours as this was not an emergency (understandably so, they’re busy) and they kept my sweet boy overnight. I got a call as soon as I got home last night, saying that these wonderful people could help my Ziggy. This morning I received a call saying that he’s X-rays and blood work look fantastic for everything he ingested last night and the procedure was successful. Thank you to all the staff who were kind, friendly and understanding to this situation. It’s really good to know there are people out here that want to help your babies when it’s needed. I will most definitely bring any of my dogs back here if it’s ever needed."
"I had to bring my chihuahua here for unexplained pain in his back. We arrived very early and were the only cars in the lot. I think people may not understand this is our only 24/7 vet clinic in the state and yes, the waits can be long. My dog was not a life threatening emergency so when those cases arrived, yes, he was put on the back burner multiple times. I am ok with that because if the roles were switched, I’d want him seen first, I wish people would understand that! You only have to look at the animals arriving in distress to know that they should go first, if yours is not as sick. Kind of like going to the ER with a human, you can expect to be waiting a long time in most cases, and the sickest people are seen first. Everyone in the office was so kind to me and my Chico, beyond kind. I find the prices reasonable for emergency care. Vets don’t work for free, and we don’t have an insurance system for pets like humans, so it is just part of owning an animal. It is all explained to you so that you can decide what you want to pay for-there’s no shadiness. They also saved my friend’s dog’s life this past summer when she was extremely sick (true emergency case). Again I saw that my friend was treated with the utmost compassion, and the vet was very upfront about costs and what to expect before proceeding with care. I hoped to never need their services, but I was really glad to have them here when I did this Saturday."
