Reviews of UNM Truman Health Services
"They have literally saved my life and I would be lost without them. The health care system in general is difficult to navigate. Truman included. But if you stick with it you will find that having Truman is a huge benefit to receiving good, quality care in a timely manner. Can you imagine if every time you needed to see a doctor or get something done you had to deal with the hospital and UNM system at large? Truman is a specialized clinic meant just for those with a specific diagnosis. We are LUCKY to have it right here in Albuquerque. Most cities do not have such a place."
"The people are amazing and friendly. They did everything they could to help me better than any other clinic or hospital ever has. Lots of services and connections to get the support I need."
"Being a patient here sucks. No one here seems to be able to communicate properly. The pharmacy is next to impossible to use. They'd rather you be out of medicine for days than fill them in a timely fashion. A few times I've come down here around 10-11am to pick up my medications only for the door to be locked, without any kind of sign indicating that they're in a staff meeting. For the first two years, they would call me and tell me my meds were ready, and I'd go down there and they were still being processed and I'd have to wait 15-30 minutes for them to fill it. I live in the foothills so it's really difficult for me to get down here, it's rather far. The people at the front desk in build F on the second floor don't know what their policies are, but they cite them to you whenever you try to get help. I feel very uncared for here, and do not feel safe as a patient. They call me by the wrong name and would rather socialize at work about how they're not being addressed properly, and then they turn around and do it to the patients here. I really don't feel that my needs are met here, and I feel like I have to be a medical student to guarantee I'm getting the right care."
"There is no patient centered care in nm. My records are mismanaged and being sabotaged . I didn't move here to slum. Nothing here meets professional service in other states. There is no patient advocate. Doesn't really matter because other providers are just as bad. Victimizing patients is so sad and desperate. Sw care is worse dr there do not stay for the first of their contracts. When ths recommends you go there it's intended aa an insult."
"They got me in during the height of the pandemic and got me transitioning immediately. My doctor is a lifesaver. She cares a lot and it’s evident. The rest of the staff has also been wonderful and professional. Beyond trans issues they also helped me with substance abuse. I never felt like I was bad or wrong, just that I needed help when I was there. Im pretty sure I get better care then the majority of the country. The pharmacy is a little shaky though. They don’t remember delivery’s or are late with them so I started using the Walgreens near me."
