"I think that being friendly is a big part of customer service. I use to work in retail and loved it. I was treated like a burden and I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted. I was there for a backpack Tuesday August 2, 2022. I saw one I really liked in the window. Actually two I really liked in the window. I wanted to check out the size difference in both and then try it on. I had already decided before entering the store and asking to see them that I was going to buy one of them for sure. I walked in and had to hunt for assistance even though there was three people standing around and watched me. I asked for help and I was told no. “No” I couldn’t see the display because they don’t seek display backpacks. Mind you. Inside the backpack wall was extremely bare. I already stated I was going to buy one if I could just see it and they told me no. Finally after going back and fourth for a moment the associates said “okay fine” and got me the backpacks to look at. I decided on a Mikey one and even after standing in line and paying they were still unfriendly and now seemed like they really didn’t want to help me because I was being difficult. In my opinion, if selling the display isn’t an option let’s discuss why, let me know I have other options or I can gladly take my service else where. Since Covid people have been unfriendly and quick to be rude. If you don’t want to make a sale then that is fine with me. Companies in general around Albuquerque especially in the mall setting are struggling. At this point I won’t care to return just because what is the point of walking by the window, seeing something you like to then find out even if it’s in the window and the last one. You can’t have it. I never had that issue before even when I worked in retail."
