Reviews of Antiquity Restaurant
"We had an amazing dinner here. We tried the oysters Rockefeller, filet mignon, ribeye, and dessert trio, and enjoyed everything. The oysters were incredible. So decadent. My salad looked like a work of art. The ribeye was so juicy and tasty. Great ambience. Definitely want to try the chateaubriand next time"
"Dined here on a road trip from Denver, CO to Albuquerque, NM. Antiquity was the restaurant I chose for our last stop on the road trip and final meal, and WOW - what a great choice! This restaurant had consistently shown up among the best restaurants in Albuquerque and after dining here, I can confirm they deserve that status. Although spending only 1 night in Old Town, I can't imagine having a better experience elsewhere. Location: in Old Town. As the name suggests, this neighborhood is part of the original "old town" of Albuquerque, before building out the modern city it has become. It's filled with old world, rustic southwest charm, with historic buildings, cacti and an almost wild west vibe with Pueblo design influences. Ambience: open kitchen right when you enter was a good sign. Dimly lit, dark wood, private nooks and booths, all adorned with local art - very elegant and a great special occassion or romantic date spot. Service: top marks - I cannot emphasize enough how great the service here was! I wish I could remember our server's name because he went above and beyond in attentiveness, explaining the menu options, engaging and ensuring we had the magical evening we had. The Food: Amazing - this is where Antuquity showed its true colors! Experience is important, but we ultimately came for the food and they DELIVERED! We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, scallops jalapeño, and Henry IV filet mignon. Every. Single. Dish. was a 5-star dish. The stuffed mushrooms (mushrooms stuffed with Italian sausage, wine, fresh herbs and grated parmesan) was a knockout! The scallops jalapeño were "jumbo" and came in a citrus cream sauce with tarragon, sherry and finely diced jalapeños (don't worry if you don't like spicy - it wasn't). Among the best scallops I've ever had, which is impressive since we were essentially in the desert! The Henry IV is a filet mignon wrapped in bacon served over a bed of artichoke leaves, topped with a divine béarnaise sauce and artichoke heart. This was hands down the best steak I had in 2023 and filet mignon is not even my favorite cut of steak!! Closing thoughts: go here for Amazing service, charming atmosphere and even better food for a night to remember"
"Had a wonderful meal with my father here to celebrate the holidays. James was our server and we were treated so well! Outstanding service, delicious food, cozy funky old town ambience. Such an Albuquerque staple, and there’s just something special about it at Christmas. We had a wonderfully fun evening. (Insider secret order the beer red Chile prawns or scallops as an appetizer! So good especially with the delicious bread) you’re welcome."
"Antiquity came up in all my search results including my accomodation as one of the top restaurants to dine; naturally we had to visit for our first dinner date during our visit. We admired the rustic look and feel of the interior with its dim lighting for ambiance! Reservation is strongly recommended assuming due to limited seating and your meals are prepared to order. Our waiter was pleasant and treated us with exceptional service the entire time. Highly recommend for cozy and enjoyable meal in a quiet environment so you may engage in light banter while dining. Suggestion to try: - We had the stuffed mushrooms that wet cooked to perfection. - The pumpkin cheesecake may have been specially for Thanksgiving but it was decadent. Note: Their menu offers an extended wine offerings but no spirits due to limited space for a bar."
"If you are searching for a quasi-romantic, one-of-a-kind restaurant in Albuquerque; Antiquity Restaurant (located just off Old Town) *must* be at the top of your list. It is frequently called a steakhouse, and while they may have choice cuts you'd be missing out if you order your typical petite filet without investigating the menu. The service is beyond impeccable and the restaurant itself is quaint and cozy and their specials are practically to die for. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms (decadent) and led into my meal with a "special salad"; Fresh greens, candied pecans, fresh fruit, bacon crumbles and topped with a pear vinaigrette it was probably the best salad I've ever had. I chased the salad with the lamb special, cooked to perfection and finished the meal by splitting a pumpkin pie cheesecake. Parking (curb side) is usually not too challenging, all within a short walk but the facilities are those of old town so accessibility is not at the forefront of the building. You will pay a price, but every cent is worth it. Do not miss out, anyone not listing Antiquity at the top of their short list is in my book, not to be trusted."
