"WARNING: GREEDY COMPANY! I miss the days when companies cared more about their customers than their own love of money. My kids and I just moved to New Mexico from Washington state, where we were at the end of our invisalign treatment. Jorgensen welcomed us in and immediately let us know that invisalign was not the proper treatment for my daughter and that we would need to start over, and that would cost us a little over $7000.00. My daughter and I were in tears while they explained that she would probably need surgery to correct her bite, but all I had to pay right now was $1000.00 for the glue removal, from her current treatment, and a retainer to prevent her teeth from shifting. If only I asked right then what a retainer was, I would have been told that it’s basically a plastic invisalign tray that’s fitted for her teeth, that will prevent her teeth from shifting. I would have realized that she had a retainer already and I would have avoided all this emotional duress. Instead, I just signed the contract, thinking it was something my daughter needed. When we came in for our appointment to have the glue removed and get scanned for our retainer, the doctor told the assistant that we would be using our old invisalign trays, and the scanning was unnecessary. At that point I asked, “What am I paying $1000.00 for, then?” He told me to wait a sec, and he left for a couple minutes. He came back and let the assistant know that we would go ahead and do the retainer and then proceeded to tell me that I was going to love this retainer because it was thicker than what I had currently. I asked him, “Do I not need to buy this retainer?” His response was, “Well, you don’t want your daughter’s teeth to shift, do you?” My brain, still not understanding the situation, said what any parent would say, “Of course not.” So, they proceeded with the scanning. It took me an attire day to finally understand that I was just manipulated into buying something I didn’t need. When I called the next business day to explain that we would like to save our $700.00 for treatment and use our current invisalign trays to hold her teeth in place, they responded with, it’s too late. They explained that I already signed the contract so regardless of whether I needed the product or picked up the product, I was still responsible for paying for the product, and then asked when I would be making my payment. My daughter is currently wearing her old trays until I can afford to get her new treatment started, meanwhile they’ve sent me 3 or 4 bills now, in the span of 3 weeks, begging for their $700.00. Clearly they need the money more than my kids and I, if they need to manipulate it out of their customers like this. It’s sad to see what greed is doing to companies these days. Anyway, protect yourselves out there! Thanks for listening."
