"Due to a very heavy snow storm that blocked roads, we ended up eating lunch here on a Friday. Service was quick given there were only five other tables occupied. I think everyone enjoyed their food except for me. The cheese sauce used for the nachos wasn't bad, just different, and not really to my liking. The salsa and jalapeños barely provided any spice. We would visit more often, but as with everywhere else, inflation has made it hard for large families to dine out."
"I just had a pretty unbelievable experience with the Greenside Cafe. We’ve been eating here for well over a decade and never been treated this way. My husband and I are both sick. We ordered a burger and peanut noodles so we wouldn’t have to cook. We live a good distance away as many people in the EM do. When we got home we realized my husbands burger bun was totally burnt. It’s a $14 burger. They wanted us to come back to the restaurant so they could remake it or take $5 off the price of the burger. That’s like an hour and half of our time spent going back and forth to fix something that they should have checked before sending out of the kitchen. Considering we had already paid for a meal that wasn’t made correctly it seems like pretty bad customer service to force us to drive back to the restaurant. I requested a total refund for the burger which feels pretty reasonable. The person I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude and should not be your front of house representative. She told me five dollars was the best they could do since we didn’t want to come back to the restaurant. I told her there was no way we could come back and that I wanted a refund for the burger. She said simply said “Okay” in a condescending tone and hung up the phone. I attempted to call back to speak to a manager but I imagine she was the manager. I won’t expect a refund but I’ll be delighted if I get one. One thing is certain, we won’t be returning to Greenside anymore. I hope the $14 was worth a lifetime of patronage. Thank you for the truly terrible experience."
"Great eatery, convienantly located in Cedar Crest. The breakfast I had on my first time was superb. The burger I ordered on the second time in was decent. I'm sure you'll find a great tasting plate if/when you go in. Thumbs up"
"I was visiting the Albuquerque area for just a few days and made a trip up the mountain to enjoy the scenery. I stopped here for a relaxing evening meal after hiking and exploring Sandia Crest. I noticed this restaurant on my drive up to the mountain and made a mental note to check it out on the way back. I'm glad I did! I ordered the green chili burger - because why not! Nearly everything in New Mexico has green chili as a topping... I'm pretty sure I saw a jar of green chili mayonnaise at the grocery store. The burger itself is partially deconstructed when served - meat, cheese, and green chili in between golden buttery buns, and you're given the choice to dress it however you wish with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. I was very pleased with the taste and choice of seasoning. Everything is well balanced and I didn't notice overpowering flavors, including the green chili. it's a very good burger... I asked for a medium texture but ended up getting well-done. The house-made potato chips are very delicious - light, crunchy, and perfect with a burger. Overall, my only true disappointment is that they didn't have the dessert option I ordered off the menu. The staff is friendly once you start a conversation, however, getting there may be a bit awkward. Upon entering the restaurant, my presence was acknowledged but I was not greeted - it was just a glance in my direction. I stood at the entrance waiting to be seated for several minutes before one of the waitresses approached me and asked if I wanted to dine in. I almost felt as if I was not going to be served. It's a nice restaurant, it definitely has its unique way of handling guests, and it seems to be working for them. But I'm not sure if outsiders, such as myself, are truly welcomed and wanted. As I enjoyed my meal, I did notice other guests entering the restaurant were quickly greeted and seated... I'm talking less than a minute from opening the door to being at the table. Whereas I had to wait anywhere between 6-10 minutes - and there were only two tables being served when I showed up, so not busy at all."
