Reviews of Hampton Inn Albuquerque-University/Midtown
"We've stayed at this Hampton for many years due to it's great location. However, our last stay there is going to be our last. On a Friday night, only one host to check us in and it took well over 30 minutes to do so. Was given a room by the elevator which we request not to get. Was assured that we would not be able to hear it, which we were. Only one of the elevators was working and appeared to be in rough shape. It was filthy and operated roughly making questionable sounds. The room was in sad shape with broken blinds, floor stains, worn out pillows and a stinky comforter. Breakfast was one of the least provisioned with the food looking pretty sad."
"Amazing location. Great food/vibes across the street. Easy access to highways and airports. 6-14$ Uber rides to knob Hill. Staff was great! Parking is great! The only issue I had was the drainage in the showers. The shower water takes a few minutes to heat up which is tolerable but the drainage is so bad you're already standing in a 1/2" puddle of water which gives you little time to shower without fear of flooding the bathroom. I saw other reviews mention this about the place but didn't think it could be that bad....but it's pretty ruff. Not a deal breaker for me, but it should definitely be looked into."
"Very nice Hampton Inn. Terrific food and drink just across the parking lot. The desk staff was efficient and helpful. Room was clean and up to date. Good breakfast. New twist on eggs. They were part of a piece of bread. I would have preferred just eggs for dietary reasons. I'm sure it depends on the day but I had to skip eggs this morning."
"The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The lady who worked in the kitchen was angry and made comments when I asked to use the microwave. This is a great chain, but if you are traveling, DO NOT STAY HERE. the vehicles in the parking lot are constantly being broken into. The class I was attending one of my classmates had his vehicle broken into. And on 2 separate occasions, I heard the manager say, "we are not responsible for vehicles in the parking lot " KEEP DRIVING."
"Would have given 5 stars. We are at the end of a 2 week vacation and have stayed at 6 different Hilton properties extending from NM and AZ. This is the only hotel we've had a problem with the housekeeping staff being really loud when we were trying to sleep. One of the most fundamental requirements of hotel staff working among the rooms, should be WORKING QUIETLY. They were yelling down the hall to each other and letting doors slam as they were going in and out. 2 BIG rules that all hotel staff should abide by....be quiet and don't let doors slam! The hotel hot tub was also broken. After a long drive in from Sedona it would have been nice, especially since the rooms only have showers and no tub. On the upside, the room was very clean and nicely prepared. Breakfast was really good, although it was yet another hotel where the oatmeal was too watered down and like soup. This seems to be a contagion among Hilton Hotels these past 2 weeks. Check in was very pleasant. Young gentleman at the front desk was fast efficient and kind. Would definitely recommend if they can get their housekeeping staff under control."
