"$29000.00 OUT OF POCKET FOR NOTHING. Who gets paid $29000.00 and doesn’t represent you in court? I hired Ms. Anderson to represent me in a complex probate case. I’m from out of state. I was not advised of NM specific laws. I was transparent regarding the aspects of the case and people involved. The office moved locations during my case and I had three different paralegals. Each time a new paralegal was hired, I had to explain everything over again which increased the bill. Many times I received no response from counsel. When I called, the receptionist seemed annoyed. Many conference calls were inaudible on my end due to poor acoustics in the office. Ms. Anderson laughed during my mediation while I was crying. I was never advised what to do once I was appointed personal representative which affected my case negatively. In the end, I paid over $29000.00 only to have the firm disengage because I didn’t have anymore money. This left me defending myself in a lawsuit in a state I do not reside in. MS. ANDERSON NEVER ADVISED THAT I COULD GET SUED FOR LIFE INSURANCE PROCEEDS. I hired them again for my deposition. I couldn’t afford to start over with another attorney. I paid a $2500.00 retainer. The deposition was 2 hours. I did not get any money back. I was told there was a balance from months prior. Previously I had been told I had paid the balance in full. One attorney Mr. Olsen was very helpful. I wish he would have been with the firm initially. $29000.00 to represent myself. I have no faith in the legal system. I will NEVER trust attorneys. This is criminal. The response is laughable."
"Friendly, professional and high quality work. I recently moved to New Mexico post divorce and needed to update all my end of life documents (Will, Advanced Directives, etc.) I was advised to establish a Trust which provides a better way to manage assets. I was listened to and the firm asked detailed questions which I appreciate."
"Our attorney, Mitchel Olson, did a great job of helping us understand our estate planning options and helping us put together a Trust Agreement that included a Durable Power of Attorney, a Warranty Deed, and a Pour-over Will. We met with him several times and corresponded with him by email, and he answered all our questions. He was very professional, patient, and considerate. He took the time to explain each document and to interpret the legal language so that we could understand. He earns our highest recommendation."
"After retiring in New Mexico, I lived several years out of state and then returned to New Mexico. I was happy with my existing legal documents and have very simple circumstances – no family, no mortgage, no debt -- only retirement income, and prepaid funeral. I just wanted to update location information and a review to ensure the documents conformed with any statutory changes. I looked at local firms, shared my existing documents and few important considerations – requesting only any simple changes that were required. The first drafts were complicated by a trust and conservator, and my few requests were missing. My questions were essentially overlooked and it seemed my documents were shoved into boilerplates without regard to my intent. Each time I asked for clarification and inclusion of what was to be “no problem”, I was charged. I signed just to be done and have paperwork compliant with current statutes. A few years later, a friend spoke so highly of the ease and clarity of their estate planning experience with Mitchel J. Olson of the Erika E. Anderson firm that I requested a brief “no charge” consultation to explore some options that were outlined in my friend’s Anderson brochure (with prices). Within a few weeks, the new documents were signed, notarized and recorded if appropriate. My questions were heard and answered. My requests were incorporated in simple, understandable language, and Mr. Olson's kind patience matched his competent professionalism. I am delighted to recommend this firm to anyone who is looking for common sense, reasonably priced and comprehensive estate planning options."
"I had the pleasure of presenting to the Law Offices of Erika E. Anderson during their year end planning retreat. I was impressed with the professionalism, commitment, and camaraderie that the group displays. They are a group that is committed to being a trusted source for their clients. They ensure that their clients have clarity about the process they are going through every step of the way. And they ultimately deliver legal solutions that contribute to the success of their clients. They are a diverse group of lawyers, paralegals, and administrators who clearly understand their core value of Teamwork. If you are looking for a legal team you can trust, who will clearly show you the path forward, and who will have your best interest in mind every step of the way, then Team Erika Anderson is the legal team for you!!"
