"Visit in Summer of 2023: Greeted warmly the afternoon we went. The same gentleman that greeted us was the server, cook and cashier. Food was all sub par. Not fresh tasting. It was minimally different from one plate to another. We spent close to $40 for 2 entrees and 2 glasses of ice water. The decor was very dated. The place looked dingy and dark. Once again the gentleman that helped us was very friendly but you could tell he had absolutely no employees helping him. This place may be permanently closed or closing soon?"
"Lexie was was super sweet and a great person to speak to. She was helpful and our food came out fast! We didn’t have cash to tip and found out the tips on card do not go to the servers. That needs to be changed asap. Lexie made sure we were taken care for our dine in visit. The restaurant was clean! Also they do not serve sushi yet."
"***RECOMMEND *** 3/2023: NEW OWNER/MGMT Restaurant is located off of Rio Bravo and Isleta (across the street from Little Anita's and near Bank of America). Plenty of parking spots are available. Happy Asian Restaurant was not busy at my time of visit at 4p so I had time to look things over. I was greeted by Lexie, who was exceptionally friendly. She informed me that the restaurant had a new owner and asked if I liked the new concept. Lexie also asked if I needed to know about any ingredients that were in anything that I wanted to order and that it could be altered. Another friendly gentleman also assisted Lexie while I was there and seemed to be a great team. After reviewing the menu (pics attached), I ordered the pepper steak and made an ingredient change. To Go container came out within 5 - 7 mins. It was heavy! The food was tasty and hot. I will go back and try a different dish just to keep my food choices interesting."
"Initially, we were sketched out by this place at its usually empty, and we were the only ones there. However, the food was pretty good. Szechuan chicken and fried rice were good, the orange chicken and the lo mein were delicious and so were the steamed dumplings. Most definitely coming back to try their other dishes as they’re on of the only few Asian cuisine restaurants in the South Valley. Its an underrated place and I wish them more business. Our server was really friendly and nice. The only reason why I’m not giving a full 5 stars is it’s definitely not a high end restaurant but definitely a better choice than Panda. They also no longer serve sushi. Also, I’d like to mention afterwards we didn’t feel too groggy or bloated, usually sauces and oils make us feel like that afterwards. For a steamed dumpling appetizer (6 pieces), orange chicken + lo mein, Szechuan chicken + fried rice, and jasmine tea, came out to $40, so about $20 per person. Not too bad. Definitely returning."
"My son and I were happy that this place opened so close to our location. You can dine in. But it turned out to be a very unhappy situation. They gave us a menu and never came to our table to take our order. one person passed us, they looked our way and kept going. Then 3 different employees looked at us but never stopped to take our order. We waited and waited and there was no one that came to our table. They acted busy but they were not. I was so dissatisfied the place was empty as you will see in the pictures. There was no reason for them not to take our order! I couldn't believe how these people treat their customers it's awful I will never go there again. I would rather go 10 miles down the road than to stop in this place again, not friendly at all. I give it no stars. My granddaughter still wanted to try this place, so we went and ate there today. It was a lot more pleasant, and the service was well improved. She had the Super California Roll. I had the Scorpion Roll. The food was delicious, glad to finally taste it. They have a sauce called eel sauce. It has the consistency of gravy, meaning thick like gravy; it tastes like teriyaki but sweeter and not salty; it was absolutely delicious. I will give from 0 stars to 3. What I really liked was my Scorpion Roll was shaped like a Scorpion, awesome."
