"DO. NOT. COME. HERE. Back in December they tried to convince me there was oil in my brake system and that it would be upwards of $4,500 to repair it. I had to wait until now to get it looked into because I didn’t have that kind of money and I’m glad I did because another mechanic demonstrated to me that that was a lie and showed me how the two systems were completely unrelated. On top of this, every time I’ve taken it in, even when I’ve dropped my car off at 8 am on the dot for simple repairs, they would wait until 1 or 2 to even start on it so I would have to take a full day off of work. I’ve also talked with other customers who’ve gone there who had a laundry list of things they did wrong on their vehicles. Don’t trust them."
"I was hit on the passenger side of my Lexus RX 330 about a year ago. I had just had my power steering and brakes fixed at PEP BOYS the day before when a young woman ran a stop sign and plowed right into me. It was an ongoing, months-long nightmare getting the insurance company to admit liability and cover all the repairs, because they claimed the brakes and power steering issues were the fault of PEP BOYS, and PEP BOYS couldn't honor the warranty because of the accident. Recently it got to the point where I was refilling my power steering fluid on a daily basis, but I am happy to say with full confidence that all the issues I had were diagnosed and repaired in one day, for less than several other repair shops I looked into. As a woman it is so common to be scammed by repair shops, so it is great to know this place is woman owned, retaining all the knowledgeable original staff, and cares about transparency and customer service. Even small stuff I didn't ask for, like missing lug nuts, were located and installed quickly and professionally, and the car was cleaner than when I brought it in! I am so grateful my friend recommended this place and will not even consider going any where else whenever my Lexy needs love and care. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!"
"Prior owner was great, New owners unprofess.ional and I doubt about the knowledge. My vehicle after it was supposedly diagnosed and repaired, repaired yes diagnose no, after the repair my vehicle sat out front with a flat tire they wanted to put air in and have me drive to another garage to get it repaired? It didn't have a flat when I drove it to you, I'm 80 years old, not stupid, you do it. And they tripled the price of the thermostat over what they paid NAPA for it..Would not recommend the new owners or this repair shop "The Mechanic" on Comanche Street Northeast now known as "Mango" to anyone! Be careful.."
"I rarely leave reviews, but I had to for my experience at The Mechanic. When I called The Mechanic, I spoke with a very helpful person named Chris. He listened to me, despite my incorrect terminology and answered my questions about pricing. I made an appointment for the next day. When I arrived the next morning, David helped me figure out exactly what I needed to have done. Oil change, tire rotation/balance and trip check. I could tell he knew exactly what he was doing; however, he didn't make me feel dumb for asking questions and voicing concerns. He took my number and said it would be a couple hours because they were busy. Sure enough, later on that afternoon, he called me with updates. He talked me through everything he found and what he would recommend for a vehicle with over 100,000 miles and for a long road trip. I had to call him back and ask him to repeat himself, which he did without any frustration. Overall, extremely happy with the customer service and the expertise at The Mechanic. It was an expensive day, but I am so happy that I went there for the work. I felt like I was treated with respect from beginning to end and I highly recommend others to take their vehicles to The Mechanic. Thank you."
"I have taken my Jeep here three or so times over the past several years for minor maintenance and tune-ups, as well as a few more major repairs like fuel pump replacement and cooling system work. The job is always done quickly and professionally, and the prices are extremely reasonable! Some repairs actually cost less than half what other shops and dealerships wanted to charge. I have never had a single issue with any of the work performed on my vehicle here. The Mechanic has helped keep my car ticking well beyond 100,000 miles with very economical repairs and for that I am extremely grateful! Many thanks to Chuck and all the technicians at The Mechanic!"
