"We are traveling from AZ to SD in a vehicle packed completely full to move my daughter to college. On the road we started to experience car issues and looked for a place to stop, choosing Zumwalt’s because of all the extremely positive reviews. They did not disappoint! Despite being very busy, our mechanic Dave immediately set up evaluating the problem and was able to repair it quite quickly for us, saving us from a potentially very dangerous situation on the road had we not noticed the problem. "Stopped on my way to California from Las Cruces. My van's engine had a misfire and no shop in town would give me the time of day, the soonest they could look at it was the next day. I called Zumwalt's Garage and explained my situation and the gentleman on the phone told me to come by that he was busy but would check it out when he got a chance. He ended up checking it out pretty quickly after getting there and after about 5 minutes found that a Spark plug wire had came loose and corrected the issue. He refused to take payment for his help and insisted that we were good. Made it to California and back without issue thanks to this outstanding mechanic that I wish I could remember the name of. But trust me when I say it's the best experience i ever had with a mechanic in my life, especially back home! Highly recommend this shop based on how they treated my son and I! I will seeiously consider towing my vehicles to Deming whenever I need any work done!"

"I had a rear wheel bearing and seal go bad on a recent trip to AZ with my sons. I bought the parts in case it got bad enough that I had to do it myself in a parking lot. On the drive back to Austin, the vibration and leak got really bad, so I stopped in Deming to see if I could find someone to do the job reasonably, as I decided that I didn't want to risk getting the axle out only to find that there was more to the problem and be stranded with my boys. I stopped at several shops to get quotes and see how quickly they could get to it; it was almost 5pm and Zumwalt said he could get to it first thing in the morning, and his quote was very fair. After checking with the other shops, it was a no-brainer... I went back to Zumwalt to get on their schedule before they closed (it was 5), and he met me at my van before I even got out... "did you decide what to do?" he asked, "yep, I'm going to have you do it". "Okay, gimme the keys and I'll have it done in about an hour and a half"... wait, what? They stayed after to fix it for us so I could get back on the road! We walked down the street to get some dinner, then I returned to find out that there was indeed more to the problem, but he was able to get the part that late and get it repaired... glad I didn't tear it down myself! The lady inside (I assume his wife, but not sure) was also really nice and had a great attitude about staying late, even with her kids there... I wish more businesses were like this. If you find yourself in the area with an automotive need, trust me and skip the others (most are pretty sketchy anyway), just go to Zumwalt's."
