"Took my daughter ( college student ) as she was not getting better after a couple of weeks...glad we decided to go...after a quick look, strep test, and x ray of chest....all done right in a matter of minutes...sent home home to wait for a call for results of strep test ...didn't make it home and antibiotics were phoned to the pharmacy... it was soo easy...all staff we interacted with were awesome. Thanks for the help."
"I went to urgent care on a Sunday about 4:30pm, so I realize, about a half an hour before they close. Nurse was shadowing an intern and both were fine. I found the doctor to be a different story. Oh, he was nice enough. However he never came completely into the room! He stayed leaning against the door the entire 5-15 minutes it took him to dismiss me. It was clear he had made up his mind about my diagnosis before he even entered the room. I had been suffering with severe nausea for over a week and that day after eating it became intolerable! I mentioned I'd been burping a lot, in case that was significant. I'd ruled out migraine and a condition I suffer from called Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). I told how the anti-nausea med I was prescribed for my migraines wasn't helping. The only reason I had not vomited all week while suffering this was sheer will power - I hate to throw up. All this I said to the nurse before seeing him. He asked me if I'd had any fever, diarrhea, I said no. He asked no other questions than what I'd been eating. I paused. I was taken aback by how to answer that - did he want specifics, or what. Turns out his take on it was that whatever had irritated my stomach wasn't being given a rest since I had been consuming the same diet. I needed to switch to a bland diet for a bit. This includes, bananas, rice, no dairy, no greasy, fatty foods. When my boyfriend piped up and said I'd been eating Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup, he said that canned soups have too much salt in them which can irritate the stomach and I should just make a big batch of homemade. Apparently, I was unsuccessful at adequately conveying to this man how I felt like I could hurl at any moment in time and often just the thought of any food made it worse. I'm not understanding how that would make me able to cook, let alone create a big ole batch of homemade soup. He did say to just keep taking the anti-nausea I already had at home. But I just can't believe he never even came near me and asked no more questions than that. No, wait! He did ask how many of the anti-nausea pills I had at home. I told him two and he said that was enough to get me through the night and he'd call in some for Monday til my doctor could refill my script. He ended by telling me they'd seen a lot of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea in the clinic. The icing on the cake for me was his send off. Have a healthier or something day and stay out of trouble. Excuse me? I'm surprised he didn't wink at me! I felt like a dismissed child - not taken seriously; and it felt like there was no real concern shown. I don't know if it was because he just wanted to get out of there or what. In thinking back, his attitude now makes me wonder if he's a pediatrician. People keep telling me Avera is the worst and that I need to switch to Sanford. This might be the last straw that convinces me they're right."
"Dr Mullin and his nurse on 01/16/24 were so friendly and helpful! Very good bedside manners and lots of compassion! Thank you so so much for making me feel more relaxed than I was going to the appointment."
"I was very pleased they were open and able to see me. I was very sick and surely didn't want to be there. The nurse was very kind and she didn't waste any time! The Dr was was also quick. I appreciated not having to wait there for a long time. I do wish though that they would've given me some clear instructions on what to do before they left. I felt like I was left without knowing what to do next. But despite that I would say that I would use their services again if needed. Thank you."
"We have handful of littles in the house who are routinely sick, so we are regular visitors of this location. We have had great experiences. The receptionist are friendly, the nurses and medical assistants are gentle, and the doctors listen to us. The wait times can be long, but they have a check in line option. The estimated wait time on the website is helpful. If you want to be in and out faster, go later."
