"I would HIGHLY suggest against going here. At first, I had barely any issues. The staff was nice, and my meds were always ready when I needed them. As of the ending of last year, the customer service has completely tanked. The pharmacy staff is beyond unprofessional and very condescending. The one I never had an issue with was Kay. She was always very helpful, and professional. Now I have to call every single time I want them to even start processing my order, and the staff is HORRENDOUSLY rude. If safeway doesn't want to lose its customers, I recommend replacing your staff, retraining almost every one of them, or setting up some serious courtesy control. Moved all of my meds. Never again."

"I called being super nice and friendly to the lady "Robin" at the pharmacy to ask if they had my medication in stock. She responded with "I don't know. I'd have to check the safe and that takes about 3 minutes to open" and sounded inconvenienced. Every other pharmacy I called knew right off the bat whether they had it or not but somehow this woman seemed so bothered to do her job. It was really frustrating especially after calling around town all morning trying to find my meds in stock. Sorry for asking you to do a basic inventory check."

"Fantastic pharmacy with excellent staff. I love coming here, even if I have to walk in. These are good people, who actually get to know you! I'll come here for as long as I live in Rapid! *EDIT Safeway Pharmacy has lost my business. Very upset with how my transaction was handled. I take a prescription that I cannot re-fill before a specified date - when I have used all of it. As such, when I fill my prescription, I need to have access to it within a day - otherwise I will suffer painful withdrawal symptoms while I wait. Today, I went to my pharmacy on Mount Rushmore road in Rapid City, SD. I needed to pick up my prescription. When I they went to get my prescription, I was informed that I would have to pay either $160 at the moment, or wait for a preauthorization for this medication. In the past, I have switched to a GoodRX coupon, as the price is usually better than my insurance anyway. Today, for SOME reason, they have started to enforce this "policy" where I cannot use a GoodRX coupon if I have insurance on file. The coupon would drop my cost down about $110 to $50, allowing me to afford my medication. In the past months, this has never been an issue, and I was always able to use a coupon to buy my medication. I was turned away unexpectedly, and do not have my medicine for the morning. I am really disappointed with how this was handled, especially since we were never informed of the policy, OR an upcoming change. Safeway pharmacy has permanently lost my family as a customer. There are other pharmacies that do not have such asinine policies that are happy to receive my business."

"Set your watch to see how long it takes for the pharmacy staff to even make eye contact and acknowledge that you are standing there. Be prepared to consistently have prescriptions refilled that you don't need and didn't order. I now have 6 months worth of a med I didnt need refilled. In an attempt to correct the mistake, you will be treated as an annoyance. Overall, the customer service lacks professionalism, they are not careful or mindful of your records, that are right there in front of them. Unfortunately, they offer the best pricing or I would transfer all my scripts today."
