Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sturgis

"The Baymont by Wyndham Sturgis is a nice average hotel. It feels like a new building. I don't know when it was built so it could actually be brand new but some things like the tables in the breakfast area and the bar/casino seem to be at least a few years old. My room however seemed very close to new with the exception of the overstuffed/lazyboy style rocker recliner which was just a bit "deflated" feeling. My room was perfectly clean and comfortable and had lots of floor space. I always check for signs of bedbugs and I'm happy to report that there were none. The bathroom and shower were great although I'd love to see more heated floors in hotel bathrooms. I'd assume that the hotel was built with proper noise insulating walls given it's young age and while I'm not sure how full or empty they were during the off season for Sturgis but I never heard a thing from another room or the bar which was just down the hallway from my room. The complimentary breakfast was the normal scrambled eggs and sausage buffet with cereal and bagel or muffin options. Also the waffle makers that have because ubiquitous. It was ok. It took away the morning hangry's which is all I really needed. I only stayed the one night this trip but I'll stay here again next trip to Sturgis. We'll see if anything is different staying on another floor maybe next time. There is no pool that I saw so it's not family with kids sort of hotel. There is a patio area that I assume would be nice with some tables and chairs in the summer but it's the beginning of March only so it's just an empty courtyard. Also Greg (I think his name was Greg), at the front desk checking me in and taking care of the breakfast next morning was super nice and welcoming. I enjoyed the brief visit we had while I was there. This is a great hotel option if you're in Sturgis. I'll be staying at the Baymont again for sure."

"This is a great hotel with a convenient bar located inside. We stayed for a basketball tournament with 2 boys. Unfortunately there were water issues on both days we were there. We could not shower either day and on the 2nd day the toilet wouldn't even flush. We were told management would call and compensate us for the inconvenience, but they never did. When I called them they said they wouldn't do anything about it. UGH!"

"After 12 hrs. Of driving from the suburbs of Milwaukee, we finally booked a hotel 1 hr prior to stopping. They booked us; knowing they had no running water in certain rooms (including ours)! We only wanted a shower & bed. The toilet didn't flush, and I could even wash my face. They said we are working on it & it will be running by morning. NOT! THEY STILL RAN MY CARD FOR THE AMOUNT UN FULL & EVEN 50.00 MORE! Then they put on a 50$ credit- because they told me it was $109 . Then the front desk ( poor girl) had to say they were not issuing any credits as of yet. Why not? WYNDHAM....this is ludicrous. Why hold my money when you could have been honest & upfront and canceled our booking- since we literally just made it ! That's poor business. I had minor surgery on my back and needed to bathe and wash it after 12 hrs of driving. Ridiculous that you had NO WATER. It amazes me that you didn't even offer bottle water to make do; for necessity purposes. Very disappointing & si dissatisfied with the management. Why? Greed?"

"Every time we stay at this hotel the staff never can give us the room we reserve, including management. We asked for the 4th floor multiple times yet never get it even though they have promised it to us in advance. We always have kids in the floor above us stomping around, making noise for quite a while. Room is not the cleanest. Breakfast is usually good. This is our last time staying here after about 6-7 attempts at giving it another chance but will not do so again."

"Easy to get to from I 90. The rooms were comfy and the service was fine. I was a little surprised to be charged $100 room deposit as it was the first time that has ever happened. Then to find there was no in room microwave or coffee pot, ,nor any in the lobby, not even any cold ice water like most hotels offer, I was a bit disappointed. Turns out, I could have asked for a pot, but that never crossed my mind. Not sure what the $100 deposit was for since there was nothing there."
