"10/10 would recommend Dr. Chen in a heartbeat! I was originally a patient of Dr. Crosby then switched over to Dr. Chen after retirement. I have seen Dr. Chen since I was 15 years old. Dr. Chen is wonderful and provides excellent care and assures me of my worries and issues. I have never had an issue filling my seizure medicine OR my migraine medicine. Dr. Chen even went as far as waiting for insurance to approve my new migraine medicine and giving me samples in the mean time. She ensured I’d have medicine in the event I’d have a migraine which I’ve never seen any other doctor do. She always makes sure my seizure medicine is filled on time and because of her I have never been out of medicine or have missed a single dose. Thank you Dr. Chen for going above and beyond for your patients and doing your absolute best!"

"If I could give no stars I would, but I have to at least give 1 to leave a review so here it goes. If you're looking for a caring and passionate neurologist this isn't your place. I was diagnosed with epilepsy roughly 7 years ago and have been coming to Dr Chen/Crosby since. It should've already been a red flag seeing they are associated with North Suburban because I have never had any good experiences with that hospital and it's staff. Ever since coming to this neurology department I've been given little to no care about fully diagnosing and finding a possible solution for my epilepsy. At first it was an insurance and financial issue, but when I finally was able to afford insurance nothing changed, other than they put me on a GENERIC prescription. I continued having seizures routinely and nothing was ever done to schedule me an MRI or ANY type of tests to fully diagnose my epilepsy. This continued even when I did my research to find out about tests and even better prescriptions and mentioned them to Dr Chen, but to no surprise, being stuck in the same predicament. Then covid hit and everything was done through video visits and it made their interests go down even more. I was put on yearly telehealth visits to check my "progress" which would last no more than a few minutes and I would be billed a ridiculous amount even with my insurance. I've also had multiple issues getting my prescription refilled, which has lead to seizures happening more often and affecting me being able to work and trying to live a normal life. I've recently finally started looking for a better neurologist and highly urge anyone else to do the same and to anyone looking to come here, don't bother."

"Money hungry neologist super rude. SCHEDULED by hospital to be seen for a serious issue but because I'm self pay they r trying to up charge me $40 letting them know I can't make the appointment that the hospital made for me! Less then 24 hours notice like was I supposed to call on Sunday? No your not open.HAVE SOME courtesy to the sick we all can't be rich like you! I WOULD NEVER PUT MY HEALTH IN A DR OFFICE HANDS THATS THIS RUDE"

"Just read my chart and only focused on one of my symptoms, and wouldn’t let me get a word in about my other ones. Had me get an EEG for a possible diagnosis what I openly disagreed with, and shocker, nothing wrong on the EEG. When she called with results she told me that she doesn’t know what’s wrong and can’t help me, so she wasted my time and money."

"My care was transferred to Dr. Chen after Dr. Crosby retired and I will not be returning! She did not ask me about any symptoms since my last visit and simply read my chart to me. Dr. Chen didn't complete any sort of examination when I met with her, she never touched me and didn't monitor my tracking, reflexes, balance. She initiated education about pregnancy and epilepsy and I had to say firmly 3 times that I am adopting and don't intend to have biological children before she got off the topic. She tried to talk to me about stopping/reducing my medication and that while we'd risk me having a seizure it would be the only way to know that I need medication. I informed her that I wasn't willing to take this risk and she continued to discuss her recommendation without validating my concern. She then went on a rant about missing my medication, I informed her that I have only missed one dose in the past year and she continued to advise me on taking my medication regularly. Follow up... My health insurance doesn't get billed, my bill says "uninsured". I call the office (it requires several calls and messages during regular business hours to get somebody) and am informed that I need to contact my insurance company because they billed my insurance and it is now my responsibility to get them payment (at this point I informed the office that no billable service was provided and that Dr Chen lacks any professionalism or ethics for billing $182). I call my insurance company and because my bill doesn't have any billing codes on it and the office never answers their phone (my insurance company attempted a 3 way call to get bill submitted) there is nothing that can be done to ensure payment at this time."
