"I absolutely love my sessions with Allison. I feel as if she's gives me her full attention every time and she makes the effort of understanding what I'm saying, while giving insight tips and advice to help me better understand myself. Every time I leave, I feel more relaxed and more at ease."
"I'm disabled and a wheelchair user. For one, they use a light switch placed too high on the wall to let the therapist know your there for a wheelchair user to flip with their hands. I have to use a book, which is conveniently left on the table in front of the light switch, to flip it. Secondly, due to the nature of my disability and living situation its very difficult for me to leave my residence if not impossible. I've expressed this many times during each appointment and I asked for a reasonable accommodation to be made to allow me to do my appointment by phone those days. However I was told that she would allow for a video appointment once here or there but not on a regular basis. She's said she would discuss that at a later appointment. She's yet to give me any information about what app is used for the video call so I could even set it up. Technically this is in violation of ADA standards by denying me that reasonable accommodation. I feel client trust has been violated and I'll just have to find another therapist as I no longer feel comfortable speaking with someone who obviously doesn't care about the mental well being and working with someones disability. Idk if this holds true for all therapist or just the one I'm seeing. But they need to be educated on the ADA laws, regulations, and be more willing to work with disabled clients."
