Reviews of Jeanne Oh MD, FAAP
"BTW - I have not seen Oh Jeanne Y MD or whatever this is for- this is for the Advanced Pedatrics in general. We have been going to this pediatrician's offic for over 2 years, but as of yesterday my children will no longer be patients there. I have come to realize in the last few visits their concern is more with prescribing and vaccinating and less about the health and care of my family. I have a 12 year old stepson , a 2 year old, and a newborn baby that passed away at 2 weeks old due to an undetected Congenital Heart Defect. First, let me start by saying that my newborn passed away in December 2012, and I would have thought more concern/ care would have been shown from the pediatrician's office that had seen him twice before he passed, and we have been to the pediatrician 3 times since his passing with our other sons, without mention from any of the Dr.s, which I find not only unprofessional, but very concerning that they haven't shown more concern with the health of my two other boys?-- that was my CHILD-- why am I asking them how my other boys could be affected and could anything heart related have been missed on them? I am not naive and I do understand that CHDs can be undetected, and I do not fault them for his death, however I believe that many pediatricians become complacent and parents need to be vigilant for own their children. There are certain tests which are not mandatory which have shown beneficial in detecting otherwise unknown CHDs, none of which were performed on my son as again- they are not mandatory- however I will not get into that here. So, that perhaps give you some background-- my son died, no one at the pediatrician's office seems to care or show more concern for my living children, or address to me if they could too be affected. But in the upcoming visits-- my two year old no longer needs to come in for another year- no more vaccinations till three. The doctor who saw my 12 year old tries to suggest a new drug for a prescription my stepson has been on for years. When she pushes to try something new, and I am leary and want to check with his father (both because of cost of this new drug and because it is a different category of drug that I know nothing of), she gets (in my opinion) irritated. I tell her I'll look into it, but no thank you. Then she suggests a flu vaccine-- the mist-- because he hasn't had one yet. I am thinking in my head because I know the mist is a live virus and I have heard some debate over it-- and she chimes in very snidely, "Do you need to check with your husband on that too?" NO- forget it lady-- I know you are trying to bill on this visit and JUST forget it. Then yesterday, my 2 year old has been sick on and off all week, I take him to the doctor and was diagnosed with pink eye and ear infection. Went to Walgreens to pick it up, and the pharmacist says to me, "This Pink Eye medication is really expensive, do you want to call the doctor to see if he can write a different prescription?" Me- "Can you just give me the generic, it is too late there now" (meanwhile screaming sick 2 year old in cart) , Pharmacist-- " There is no generic". $100 I paid yesterday for Pink Eye medication. You have got to be kidding me. They don't care about us-- they care about what cut they can take from writing a prescription or giving a shot. That was the last straw this year, time for a new pediatrician."
