"Seeds Wilderness Therapy was a community, home, and family for me. I was a guide during the first season as Seeds launched into starting business. Working for a pioneering company had many twists, turns and unexpected changes. This company navigated them with grace and patience which lead to comfort for staff and students; I felt safe working for a company that strived to do their best each and everyday. In the past, I have worked for secular wilderness and residential treatment centers; these were lonely and challenging environments. I often felt unseen and unsupported while working. It was unsustainable to thrive while supporting the students in these environments. Seeds Wilderness was the opposite. The staff environment is loving, welcoming, and is a home. I was accepted and celebrated simply being me. Guiding for Seeds was one of the best experiences I could have asked for. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about my time as a guide with Seeds. I miss the people, places, and purpose of the work that Seeds Wilderness does in the lives of students, staff, and the surrounding company. I would highly recommend working for Seeds to anyone who is interested in providing guidance and simply showing up authentically to change lives."
