"Grateful for these people."
"I seem to share a similar experience to someone else here. Renee was very kind and honestly fun to just shoot the breeze with. I do not know if it is a lack of experience in her modality or just not the right modality for myself, but I did not find that her therapy fit my needs. Brent is extremely unprofessional. Just absolutely unacceptable. Should not be apart of anyone's marriage healing. Also, their operations lacked a lot of professionalism and structure."
"Mixed experiences with this therapy group. Renee is a doll, and incredibly compassionate and sweet. I didn't find her particularly helpful as a therapist (I've since found a great professional), but I understand that therapy is an art, and sometimes personalities don't blend well. I suspect that Renee is an excellent therapist for many, because her compassion knows no bounds. I do not, under any circumstances, recommend them for marriage counseling however. We were referred to DFT as a "marriage friendly," group. This was not my experience. In our first marriage counseling session, I was blindsided, as I was lead by my ex to believe we were there for counseling, while my ex was actually there to start the divorce process. Unfortunately, I was shocked. Instead of taking the time to work through that and allow me to have feelings about it (ie, the point of therapy), Brent became exceptionally combative, using phrases like, "Your feelings do not matter," and "You will ruin your kids by involving lawyers." Interestingly, at the end of the session, when he said I would just have to "Accept this, because it only takes one person to get divorced" (true in Colorado), I replied, "From a moral, family and religious standpoint, I will never accept that this is the right decision for us." .... He replied, "Well then, lawyer up." ...Not exactly the phrasing you'd expect from a therapist. So, in summary, while Renee is a very sweet person, and Brent may be good at individual therapy (my ex certainly liked him), Brent does not seem able to find compassion for the *other* party in a marriage session, and I do not recommend them for this purpose."
"Wonderful and caring people here"
