Reviews of Desert View Family Counseling
"was a patient and i absolutely don’t suggest this place(:"
"I don’t have any issue with the NP. However I DO take issue with the fact that I left messages through a 7 day period after they had to reschedule me when the NP got sick and I have not heard a word back from them. Completely ran out of my psych meds even after requesting a refill to get me through to my next appointment on my messages and requested that my rescheduled appointment be moved to a much earlier appt since I could not make it work with my schedule. If it wasn’t for the fact that I work for a prescribing doctor I would be in the BHU right now. What happens to people who don’t work for practitioners??? As an office manager myself I’m so angry. I will not be going back and will be seeking care somewhere else."
"Does anyone at this facility know how to work a phone? They don't answer or call back after leaving several messages."
"Tried several times to get ahold of them multiples days of the week they were "open", at different times of day, only to go through to voice-mail every single time."
"It took over three months for them to see me, I did the intake paperwork online and emailed it in and had to follow it multiple times. Although the CEO replied and asked his staff to follow up immediately I still had to follow up with them again. I was definitely willing to overlook that after my initial assessment with Luis, I really connected with him and he had a lot of valuable insight on specific situations in my life. I was really looking forward to future sessions where we could expand on tha. HOWEVER... I just received a call from them saying they would be unable to see me because of crimes I was convicted of 13 years ago when I was 21 years old. Terry, whom I spoke with only this once, would not come right out and say that until I directly asked the question, She just told me that they “only work with victims” repeatedly, and didn’t seem to understand that Screwed up adults such as myself come from a childhood of being a victim. She was very apologetic, stating that they were not aware of my past when they made the appointment. Perhaps they would have been aware had they read the assessments I had emailed them three months prior and not been in a hurry to see me to make up for overlooking me. She was a little more straightforward about the bill, stating that I would still have to pay for the assessment, Despite the fact that I will never see it and that it will do me absolutely no good. With counselors like Luis, I am sure this place does a lot of good, but they have done me an incredible disservice. It’s a good thing I’ve already turned my life around and am only looking for help to maintain that, imagine if I had really needed help... UPDATE: despite the office manager having told me that they would be unable to see me, I still received a text message yesterday advising me that I was to keep my 930 appointment this morning or face the $35 cancellation fee. I called and they were most apologetic, and advised me that no fee would be assessed, but for an office with only a handful of people in it, the communication is an absolute disaster."
