Reviews of Intermountain Health Denver Midtown Clinic – OB-GYN
"I specifically went to this practice to see Dr.Dana Roper , as a woman of color I was hoping to be seen by someone who would understand the importance of quality care , feeling heard and just wanting to feel safe .. but instead she seemed like she didn’t want to deliver me at all , mind you I asked the receptionist prior to making my first appointment if I would be able to receive care from her and I was told yes …I had a scheduled C-section and every date I said she basically said no , I’m on vacation .. I don’t work on weekends .. she seemed overly judgmental about vaccines and weed consumption (although I don’t consume weed ) which was weird but whatever I still stayed with the practice - My biggest concern is that I asked from the beginning if they would be able to oversee the high risk pregnancy to make sure there wouldn’t be a uterine rupture , they mentioned I’d see a specialist regularly and be monitored more frequently as I got towards my due date but instead I only had 2 ultrasounds by this practice and that was in the beginning of my pregnancy - I only saw the specialist 2x for ultrasounds as well but was told as I got bigger I would be monitored regularly .. I was barely monitored for the expectancy of a rupture ..and when the rupture did happen they said it couldn’t have been prevented but that’s what I asked in the early weeks of pregnancy once again , and then most recently I need some documentation for my maternity leave for a serious health condition I had to ask for a correction of the document at least 4 times from the assistant .. and the claims department grew more and more frustrated each time because each time there was a correction , there was another mistake present …resulting in them just denying the claim altogether.. which not only affected my leave pay but my job protection. At this point I don’t know where I stand because I’m literally on the brink of eviction and losing my job because the doctors office couldn’t simply fill out a document and then look it over and make sure it was correct and that nothing was incomplete ..this really makes me question the quality of care that I received as a whole if they couldn’t even fill out paperwork correctly then what was happening during my C-section."
"I do NOT appreciate the quality of care I’ve received since being a patient at this particular clinic. I will be transferring my care to a better provider ASAP. I’ve only gone here for OB appointments but I can’t imagine the quality I’d receive if I were needing intensive care.. to be fair I’ve only seen one MD the 2 times I’ve gone, but her and her medical assistant made this experience HORRIBLE."
"First of all, Brenda, the NP is amazing. I wish I could get the care I needed from her. However, that is impossible given the administrative staff. A Medical Assistant just stated to me that it is outside of the scope of her job to obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions, and when my prior authorization was denied she refused to appeal it. It is a provider's responsibility to handle prior authorizations, and only a provider can appeal. I am deeply disappointed by this office."
"Absolutely DO NOT go here for any kind of birth control or contraception. Reception will NOT tell you that Intermountain/SCL is a Catholic affiliated institution and therefore they consider IUDs and any other immediately effective contraceptives to be emergency contraceptives - and will not provide them to you without requiring you to go through multiple appointments that span MONTHS. What part of an IUD appointment that was scheduled OVER A MONTH in advance is an emergency? I don't know, but if you have a uterus, it's clear that Intermountain Health does not care about you. They make you jump through extra hoops to get the care you need. Not only do they make you jump through hoops and wait an additional few weeks to months for basic care, they also aren't skilled at IUD insertion. I've had an IUD before and at my appointment at this clinic - the provider cut the strings too short, misplaced the IUD and didn't train the strings (all of which was identified by a non Intermountain provider who honestly said "who tf put this in?" when I had to get it removed less than a week later due to severe pain). When I attempted to reach the office's after hours nurse line, I was hung up on so I sent a MyChart message. When they finally responded to my message, the nurse was sensational and tried to scare me about a potential tubal pregnancy - not once did they call me to come in for a check, they literally said go to the ER we can't help you. This kind of care is shameful and borderline negligent. Absolutely go anywhere else if you value bodily autonomy and being respected as a patient and human being."
"Dr. Stacey Brophy is amazing! She is super clear in her explanations and generous with her time. I ask a lot of questions to my providers, and Dr. Brophy is by far one of the best in answering them and offering additional information and guidance transparently to help making important health decisions. Also, excellent bedside manner! The clinic’s facilities overall are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained as well."
