"We were visiting Manitou Springs and thought we’d try out a local and historic bar. It was the middle of the day and we each ordered a beer. The bar was cool and obviously old, but the local patrons do NOT want tourists in their sacred space. The guy sitting next to us complained to the bartender that “It’s not even ‘f’ing’ tourist season but they keep coming in!” It was awkward and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Save your money. They don’t want it."

"Poor service did not acknowledge us took us several minutes to ask for a check then we had to ask for a check and was rudely told cash only atm was behind us. I paid and left as we only have a glass of wine and a beer. When we walked back later past the bar the bartender was standing out said and made several comments to us about she will holding a grudge and said that if we wanted better service we should have tipped and kept talking as we were walking away. Very unfriendly and unprofessional staff will not be returning and not recommending this place to anyone."

"This is a dive bar and they uphold that moniker quite proudly. I am not saying this to be mean; I’m saying it because they are proud of what they are and they make no qualms about it. It’s a very small bar that serves great, inexpensive drinks, especially inexpensive compared to the $15 drinks you’ll find just down the street. So, take it for what it is and be glad the bartenders scrutinize you if you order some fru-fru concoction that takes more than 20 secs to make. And don’t forget to tip well!"

"This place was like I walked through a worm hole back to 1991. Craft local draft beer was $2.25 during happy hour. 90’s alternative blaring on a CD coin operated juke box. Bathroom was spotless but the size of a broom closet. Coin operated pool table. Credit cards? Nope. Cash only. Of course cash only. No bar accepted cards in ‘91. Here’s the deal, you gotta see this place for what it is. It’s a local watering hole full of a cast of local characters. Sit back and enjoy the show and get drunk on $20."

"First time in Manitou Springs and wow! I was really surprised by some of the negative reviews for this spot as it’s known to be a locals spot so it’s not about “fitting in”…it’s about learning about this amazing region and we did! Jessica was awesome - kind, knowledgeable, welcoming, fun, gave us great food spot suggestions and we got to meet some cool locals (Pat the one-wheeler!). Great drinks and inexpensive- yes cash only but they have an ATM. And new blue felt on the pool table!"
