Reviews of A5 Steakhouse
"Great experience! Loved the place. It's not your classic steakhouse, the inside is way more funky with green, flamingos, and such. The atmosphere is a tad more relaxed as well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only person who worked against everyone else seemed to be the hostess. Don't ruin servers' good job! They are great. The food was outstanding. It took us a while to find a steak in Denver that we would enjoy over cooking ourselves. We started with shrimp cocktail, which was very good, but not to the level of the rest of the evening. I guess we were surprised it had no kick at all, but the sauce was tasty, just not very intense. Then, we had the mains: bavette, dry aged NY strip (special, not always available), fries (risk of cross-contamination for GF people), and broccolini. The meat was just perfect and delicious. The aioli that comes with fries is incredible and a bit lemony. The broccolini surprised us, being very flavourful as well, but I could not explain what was done to them. Finally, we ate the meat with Thai Chili and Bordelaise sauces - the first one being light, bright, and just a bit spicy, the second rich and delicious. Overall, we are already thinking about stopping for a happy hour someday. While they do not have dedicated gluten free dishes, our server was very helpful in navigating the menu and learning where there are risks of cross-contamination or where soy sauce is added. After all, steak itself is safe, so it's easy to get an amazing dinner while being GF. Try it!"
"So I eat out every day and consider myself a foodie. I can’t believe I did not write a review of this place, yet! I love it! Firstly, order the Thai Chili sauce and put it on everything!!!!! The bacon appetizer is amazing!!!!! I highly recommend!!! Please put it on the happy hour menu!!!! Also, the Japanese A5 waygu is fantastic!!!!!!! You have to order it!! You won’t regret it. It melts in your mouth. The Tomahawk! The Korean lettuce wraps. The list goes on! I highly recommend!!"
"Phenomenal experience! Stopped in for happy hour with a buddy and we were both blown away with the A5 Burger and Wagyu Yakitori. Best burger I have had in Denver so far, unbeatable happy hour deals! Drinks were also delicious and staff was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend A5!"
"I went for my birthday and enjoyed my time there, the atmosphere and the service. The manager even comped us an appetizer after a misunderstanding about being "capital one members" and having made the reservation through the credit card website claiming elite dining perks for being card members. Very nice of him! (Will go back for a drink based on this and the Old Fashioned Alone!) Overall, we spent $200 on our drinks meal and dessert. Not bad for the nice evening we expected. The reason the review isn't 5 stars is because I actually got sick that evening and I believe it was because of the steak I ate there. I ordered a medium rare steak -which I frequently order and is my Favorite- and due to the steak being SO thick, it was primarily all red (less warm center.) I know that at this point I could've sent it back and asked for more sear. However, I did not, I took the first bite and was very much seduced by the flavorings of the meat (which were great.) I trusted that it was supposed to come that way and continued to eat it. As said, enjoyed the evening and all my drinks and plates and regretted it later. Overall, do not be afraid to ask for your meat more cooked if you feel it's not done to your preference. Neglected to take pictures of the meal after drinks kicked in. Apologies everyone."
"This dining experience was incredible. We got great recommendations on what to order and we were not disappointed. The Chickpea Fries were a sweet surprise and the Hamachi was so fresh. The A5 Wagyu is expensive and is only about 4 bites, but it is so tender it melts in your mouth. We either loved or greatly enjoyed everything and would go back again."
