"I do not recommend working with Barbara Gordon or her team. Last year, she spent 20 of my family's allotted 30 minute appointment call time going over health insurance company and plan "options" for my family...even after I suggested that I did not believe we were eligible for those plans. During that call, she also zealously urged me to consider switching my insurance company although I told her we had been happy with the plan we had and the services we had received. When she realized that we weren't eligible after all for the plans that she'd been trying to get us to sign on with, she hurried us off the phone because she had other appointments to keep. Needless to say, I was left frustrated by the whole interaction. When I called her back later and asked her how I could switch to another health insurance broker and gave her what I considered constructive feedback about our interaction, she was terse, but gave me the information I asked for. After I questioned her as to why she was advocating for other health insurance companies and plans over the one we already used and had been happy with, she stated that she would not receive a commission from our current provider if we continued forward with them. That was last year. This morning, a representative from her office called me to discuss Open Enrollment. When I stated that I didn't want to work with Barbara Gordon and asked whether there was someone else I could work with and recounted my interaction from last year, he said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have called you. I see a note here that we are unwilling to work with you." I must admit, I was upset to have had my morning interrupted for this, and I told him so. He apologized again then hung up on me mid-sentence. If you are looking for an insurance broker who will give you accurate information, help you decide which insurance company and plan is best for your family's needs, and has a team that is organized and detail-oriented, I cannot recommend Barbara Gordon or A+ Summit Health."
