"My online order was late. It was hardly what I would consider busy at nearly 10am. Also, the price of these donuts was insanely expensive. It was $50.00 for 4 special donuts 2 cake donuts and some Donut holes. Ooof! The donuts were good. Not $50.00 good. First and last time I go to LaMar's."
"We stopped in to try the donuts at LaMar's in Westminster. We had been given a coupon to try a free dozen, and we are glad we did. The store was clean and quiet, but it was right around the New Years holiday, so maybe we were there before the morning rush. The gal at the counter was friendly and helpful. She was also patient as we decided what we wanted in our dozen, and mixed our coffees. The pumpkin Spice with cream cheese was the best, with the pineapple coming in second. The dozen did not make it until the next afternoon. So good, we had to share. The coffee was just as delicious! If you have not tried LaMar's yet, get on in there! I swear the donuts melt in your mouth!"
"Ahhhh yeah, the classic nostalgia of donuts in the morning since I was a wee little goblin. It felt good returning to a Lamar's after all these years. Got a good half dozen, all very fresh and warm. The woman who served me was clearly not prepared for mornings, but a good humor she had made it all well and good. Just a shame the place it a little condensed for seating. Otherwise a pretty good, and warm, place to get donuts that are still fresh."
"I've visited this Lamar's for a long time--over a decade. I don't come a lot (every 6-8 weeks--because I love donuts and if I bought them more often I would get really fat). When I do, I buy two dozen, one for my guys and one for a customer or vendor I choose to surprise that day. I have always found Lamar's to be excellent quality--until this past Friday. I don't know what has been done to the recipe, but reverse it. Immediately. Lamar's has always had a yeast-risen-type lightness with a soft glaze or frosting. The two dozen on bought on Friday were clearly baking soda and generic glaze/frosting. Indistinguishable from the $5-a-dozen grocery store donuts. Really heavy. Kind of stale. Hard glaze. Gross. VERY disappointing. Not at all worth the $50. Not at all worth the calories."
"Wow these are good donuts! Very light and fluffy, and freshly baked. We got three filled donuts (raspberry, lemon and blueberry) and an apple fritter. The filling was so good, and filled the whole donut! Not like some places that just put a teaspoon somewhere in the middle, these had filling in almost every bite. Delicious! There apple fritter was good but heavy on the cinnamon. If you like that, you'll love the apple fritter. The staff was fast and friendly, and it wasn't busy at all for a Sunday morning. A great place you shouldn't miss!"
