"I went in to get my first tattoo and I emphasized three separate times that I wanted the tattoo to not be dark and that I didn’t want a lot of shading. The artist made my tattoo super dark and in one place it’s completely black. I couldn’t see the tattoo as I was getting it so I couldn’t stop him and ask for it to be lighter. At the beginning he only showed me the outline so that’s what I thought I was getting. He did not show me how much shading he was going to do and the shading done is not in a style I like. Be VERY clear with what you want. Overall it’s still an okay ish tattoo, it’s not completely botched but it’s definitely not what I wanted."

"So Troy does great work because I have seen his work. I went in for a quick tattoo, but unfortunately got one of his underlings who wouldn't listen to me and give the time to draw the tattoo out like I wanted, couldn't outline and certainly couldn't color in without blowing past the lines several times. Again Troy may be great, but if you have wannabes from Washington or where ever representing your shop, you may want to make sure they have the skills needed."
