Reviews
"Lots of history of Deltas wild past."
"A wonderful museum. Lots of great local history, lots to see and learn about. Absolutely loved it and I look forward to going again."
"This is a great little museum with many interesting exhibits. The historic bank robbery exhibit alone is worth the trip. The interactive Bell exhibit is another of my favorites. You are encouraged to ring each of several old time bells used for different purposes in days gone by. We are so used to electronic amplification and high powered speakers that I was amazed at the clarity and volume of these purely mechanical bells made long before electronic enhancements were invented. I'm certainly glad we decided to pay this gem a visit."
"If you find yourself in Delta and need something to do with the children I highly recommend you visit the museum. It is well worth the price of admission if you enjoy taking a trip back in time. The children absolutely loved getting to ring the different bells on display outside."
"The Delta County Historical Society Museum in Delta, Colorado is a fantastic small town museum. The museum houses the achieves and artefacts which tell the history of the region from pre-historic dinosaurs to the native Americans and the arrival of the white man, boom of farming, coal mining, and ranching and orchards. There are many extra ordinary artefacts, such as a robe worn by the King of Siam, a clock owned by Louis XIV from Versailles, and a 100 year old butterfly collection which the Smithsonian has called a national treasurer. The Museum also has a display about the end of the McCarty gang which were co-conspirators of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Every year the Society hosts a cemetery tour where volunteers re-enact the tales of several famous residents. From time to time the Society hosts New Years parties, tributes to well known living individuals, book signings, movie nights, and ice cream socials."
