"Went to a comedy show here for a mom's night out. The bartenders were very nice, the show was lots of fun however the food was very overpriced, not very good and it took us almost the whole show before we got it. We ordered food at 6:20pm when we arrived and did not get to eat until 8pm. They then did nothing to make it better at the end of the night, no discount when it was clearly an issue with their ticket system and kitchen being backed up. Lots of others also did not get their food in a timely manner after ordering it. Over all this experience made my friend and I learn that if we attend another event here we will be eating before and I will also never be going to the restaurant that just provides the food to the Opera house as sperate outing."
"Not a good experience trying to get served a drink at the bar. The bartender did not look up or acknowledge us at ALL! It was bizarre. Maybe he was thrown in there and wasn’t even a bartender? But when we did say, “hey, can we get a drink, we’ve been standing here 10 minutes?” He said, “hold on” and left. After that, we left too."
"Went to see a Prince tribute band and it was a great time. Nice space for medium size events and the staff is very friendly. I recommend seeing any event here if you can."
"Went to the Valentine’s Day comedy show, the comedians were okay, but I rarely turn down stand up, so I’m sure I’ll be back for that (hence the 2 stars.) The food and drinks, on the other hand, were truly something to be embarrassed about, and I hope they can fix these issues asap before this beautiful place implodes on itself. We ordered both a gyro ($16) and a cheeseburger ($14) and both sandwiches had zero sauces with them, so it was like eating cardboard. Due to their inefficient food running system, we chalked it down and ate them dry. Their system for delivering food during a show was to bring everything to the corner of the bar, while they hold up a long piece of paper with your name on it (good luck if you aren’t far sighted.) This is so that servers don’t have to try and find you during the show. But that means that while you’re supposed to be watching and enjoying the show, you instead have to keep your eyes on the bar while there’s multiple people crowding the area trying to see if their food has arrived. This whole disaster of a system could easily be resolved by giving people light-up buzzers when they order their food. The tiny 6oz pours of wine were $12 each, and their Pinot Noir is on draft, which means your red wine is being served COLD. That’s a hard no for me. And if I had known I was being charged $12 for such a measly pour, I definitely would have ordered a beer instead (I personally would not take a risk on mixed drinks here.) As I’m closing my tab at the end of the night, the guy runs my card before I even get a chance to see a line item list of what I’m being charged for. I felt like our total was excessively high for what we ordered, so I asked him if I could see what was on my tab, but their card system didn’t have an option to cancel the transaction once it was already on the tip screen, so I had to blindly pay and email myself a receipt. Unless you have the palette of a 15 year old, yourself a favor and eat / drink elsewhere before coming to a show here."
"We saw comedy show on valentines evening, and the comedians were good, but that has very little to do with the Dickens! Order ginger beers bartender told me they didn't have any. I said last time I was here a few weeks ago at a catered event, they did. He poured one from the soda gun and it wasn't good! Then I ordered a beet salad almost $16 came with two thin slices of beet The whole salad weighed about 2 ounces and had to watch for it at the upstairs bar! Took me standing at the bar for 20 minutes to get dressing! Asked for a virgin Mary don't serve them upstairs went downstairs after a back-and-forth with the bartender he said it would be all right if I went upstairs and got a plastic cup and he would make or should I say poor one. Went and got a cup $13.50 for a virgin Mary! Service terrible, and I haven't been gouged like this for a long time!"
