"Amazing experience"
"I really enjoyed the experience. I thought the music was great and the staff were all really nice. The food wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad. I did this over a year ago and still reflect on it often!"
"Mediocre... on a really good day. The idea of being served diner and entertained with live music by blind curators sounded intriguing. If I had to describe the experience with one word it would be "selfish". I enjoyed the experience of not being able to use my eyes while eating and chatting with strangers, but the way that I felt sequestered (you can't just get up and leave) and forced to listen to tasteless jokes, consume tasteless food, and dreary music felt like I was there to serve them, not the other way around. It felt like we were being held hostage by people who were desperate for attention. When one woman asked if she could go to the bathroom they publicly shamed her. The instruments were out of tune, the songs were mostly full of melancholic, self absorbed, woe-is-me themes. The food was bland and cold (preset on the tables in plastic clam shells). For some reason the floor was wet, which is dangerous when walking on polished concrete in the dark. When they told us they had been doing this for ten years and had been all around the world I was utterly shocked. If I didn't know better I would have guessed this was their first or second performance ever. The way they held space, prompted questions, opened and closed the evening was... amateur."
"Overall was an interesting experience and was happy to be able to learn from some of the blind staff. However, the owner is slightly masoganistic and often made the event about himself as an abled person. The food was honestly aweful. My partner ended up getting sick from it. I also had to use the restroom 3/4 of the way through but you literally can't leave cause you can't find the exit. Would really not recommend this."
