"This is a terrible key cutting kiosk. It wanted 11 bucks to mail me a single copy of a cheap master lock key because "it's a rare specialty key". It actually said that... Master lock padlock keys are a specialty key! The blue store up the street has a kiosk that will cut 3 master lock keys for 8 bucks right away."
"Listen to the reviews telling you this is a scam. I wish i had read the reviews instead of just looking at the rating. I was extremely stressed at the time as i had locked myself out of my car and had no spare key and was running late. I called them as they were the closest to my location, upon calling i was told they charged a $29 service fee and that was all the information i was given. I was then transferred to the technician to tell him the address. They said they would arrive in 15-20 minutes (then promptly hung up before i could ask any questions) and it ended up being 40. By that point i was already close to crying as i was so stressed. The technician came, pried the door from the frame and pushed the electronic unlock button using a long hook. All in all it took about 30 seconds. Unfortunately being young and a woman they took advantage of me and my stress. They charged me $279 dollars which is over half of my paycheck. When my dad and i called customer support (i asked for his help as i know people dont take young women seriously) they were absolutely unhelpful and kept repeating that the technician picks the price no offer to help or anything. I am now struggling to pay for my own necessties because they decided to take advantage of my distressed state. This company is a scam and just watch, theyll probably have the same response under this review as all the rest. "We're sorry you had issues, please contact customer service" my issues are not only with your technician but with your customer service representative."
"This is a scam operation. Please use someone else and save yourself the headache. This review is for KeyMe Support. I wrote a previous review documenting the scam associated with their pricing. I complained and was directed to the 'Support' department. The rep I spoke with was either incompetent or simply reading from a list of predetermined responses. She took no time to understand what my issue was and she kept repeating the same thing over and over, even though I asked he to stop. She suggested my problems with their pricing was my fault because I didn't ask the right questions about the pricing. She completely disregarded any obligation on their part to disclose the specific cost of the service, only the range. Unacceptable!"
"I locked myself out of my car and called KeyMe to get the thing unlocked. They were friendly enough when I called, but didn't discuss the price of their service with me. I had to call back to see what they would charge. They told me there was a $29 service charge for driving to my location. Then the technician would evaluate the work that needed doing and an additional cost of $90 to $200 could be charged. When the technician arrived, it took him 30 seconds to pry the door from the frame and reach in with a wire to tap the electronic unlock button. After seeing this, I assumed this service had to be around $90 because it was so easy to do. Zero complications. The technician presented me with $160 bill for his efforts. The bill was not itemized, so didn't identify the $29 service call. Nor did he attempt to explain why this work was worth an additional $130. I remember after the incident that I've had similar experiences with plumbers and electricians. This technician was a contractors to KeyMe. He is required to pay KeyMe as certain amount for each call they give him. KeyMe doesn't care what the technician charges, so the technician upcharges to make sure he gets the money he wants. The technician didn't even try to conform to KeyMe's pricing policy. This was a scam. Even though my car was unlocked, KeyMe and technician conspired to get more money out of me by taking advantage of my situation and obscuring the cost of their services. Maybe they all do this to their customers, but I would try another company before calling this one."
"Very unprofessional, very rude, and no communication. I called to get a price quote and they sent someone before I agreed or got a price. I was able to locate the key that had been lost and answered who I thought was the person giving me the quote and it was the guy sent to fix me key. Very rude, lack of communication. As someone who works in costumer service I would not recommend"
