"The family who runs this store is friendly and helpful. We love getting our wine, beer and liquor here. It is truly a neighborhood place with people who say hello. So happy to have them around and hope they stay for a long time."
"Love this place.. I remember buying garbage pale kids here. When I was a kid My mom and Pops bought our first 2nd TV HERE 19"BLACK And White with antenna."
"Gotta say I was turned off on this place being new to town because of the low quality goods but still came for the beers because the people were nice. We bought a couple of wines that were turned to vinegar but had good luck buying things to be used in cooking. One day as me and a family member was followed around like we were going to steal something even though I had been a faithful customer for a long time. They just decided one day they didn't like us and they wanted us to know it. No more smiles from the owner. Not a word as we checked out. What changed?"
"I have been shopping steady at Tobins Liquor for about a year after having moved to the area last summer. I found prices decent and people helpful. But, recently something happened to change my opinion. I stopped by to buy some beer - the total came to $15.11. I gave the woman behind the counter a twenty and then counted out the 11 cents. She began talking to another worker then came back to register but never gave me my $5 change even after I had asked for a receipt. I certainly understand the mistake as I didn't catch it immediately either and left the store. Once home I realized I had not received my change. There were no bills smaller than a $20 in my wallet, no stray $5 in my pants pocket - no singles no nothing resembling the change. I made a not on the receipt I was now extra happy I always asked for and decided take it up with Tobins on my next visit which are usually at least twice a week if not more. I stopped by today 5 days later. I knew this was a bit long but I also knew the woman would remember me as we often chat during our transactions and I usually ask for a beer that never seems available on the shelf. I found out just how valuable my year's worth of steady but admittedly not high dollar business is worth to the Tobins. She said "if you had come in the next day I could have checked the video tape" as much as asserting I was trying to beat the store out of fin. I implored that perhaps she recalled that "her drawer was five dollars over" but to know avail. I knew it was a long-shot but thought maybe my regular business was worth believing me to the tune of $5 but now I know how valuable my loyalty is with Tobins."
