Reviews of Cheyenne Crest
"I loved the peacefulness and proximity to hiking. The area is beautiful. Interior was great when I moved in. Property management employees (Kari/Sharon)were friendly and prompt in communicating. New manager( December 2023) is highly cooperative. I recommend the apartment complex without reservation."
"They charged us an extra $500 in rent for “month to month fees” even though we re-signed our lease months prior. then they informed us that they lost the paperwork for our lease. they wrote us a refund check which was a bad check that bounced. Then they wrote us another check which also bounced. The accountant told me she lost the check number and record of the checks, and tried blaming me for their issues. Not once did I get an apology or offer to make up for the fees they caused me. I was also told that the owner of Cheyenne Crest has no money. Finally I was able to get the management company to return the money they stole. -you will find spiders, rodents, earwigs, crickets, ants, etc because there are cracks in nearly every corner and open spaces under the sink/between toilet and the wall. -they will not do anything about the pest issues. one lady yelled at me over the phone and said to call pest control myself. -they will threaten to tow your car when management inevitably changes and they lose paperwork -their “renovations” include taking white spray paint to every inch of the apartment besides the cheap laminate floors. there are literally chunks of white paint and drip marks on the walls and we are being charged an extra $200 a month for “upgrades”. the only difference between partial and fully upgraded is that fully upgraded includes painted white cabinets. -expect to be charged $100s monthly for “amenities”- the gym is literally 2 peloton bikes and a treadmill -maintenance men will peak through your windows -they never pick up the phone or call back so if you have an issue, good luck getting ahold of them. the office is usually left unattended during business hours as well -cars are broken into in the parking lot frequently -extremely high electric bill because there is no insulation and the windows are poorly designed. the ancient sliding doors aren’t sealed properly -the layout of the living room and master bedroom is just weird and awkward. it makes the space hard to use with a chunk of the corner cut out for the sliding doors -they threaten to tow cars parked in fire lane yet frequently park their vehicles there themselves. i really wish we had a better experience at this apartment complex because it was a great location and had potential, but it’s really just a horrible place to live. the staff is rude and ruins anything good that could come from living there. at one point i witnessed an altercation between a staff member and a resident in front of the building. when the staff doesn’t value the property and maintain it, the residents don’t either. Theres constantly trash everywhere. Leaves are left in the fall and the grass gets muddy and disgusting. They don’t use ice melt or shovel snow. They also make it extremely hard to move out after your lease is up. you basically have to jump through hoops to avoid paying 1000s extra. probably because half the apartments are empty because no one wants to live there and they are desperate for residents. i wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to be trapped in a lease at this place so whatever you do, avoid it. if you’re looking for other options in the area look into Mountain View Apartments, Cobblestone Ridge, and Village at Westmeadow as they are all very close to here. PLEASE take these reviews into consideration. there are tons of horrible reviews and they are all legitimate issues that management refuses to address."
"Living at Cheyenne Crest apartments is the best, everyone is so happy, friendly and polite. The staff does everything on their hands to help you with all your questions and concerns to make your life easier and keep you comfortable. BEST APARTMENTS EVER ❤️"
"I'D AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. My husband and I needed somewhere that will rent to us quick and they were our best option and everything went smoothly, but our experiences with them have been absolutely terrible. It's convenient because it's close to gate 3 to Fort Carson, but NOT WORTH IT. It started with a few minor issues like receiving a notice that my husband's car will be towed for having tags that were a few days expired while he was deployed. We got that fixed to avoid it, and yet saw other cars with the same expired tags or flat tires that never ever move in the lot and they never got towed. Another issue was that they drilled the lock on our storage unit while we were out of state and told us to remove our belongings because they had someone else moving theirs in. They claimed we never paid the storage rent and it wasn't in our bill when it was completely an error on their part. How else would we have had a key and complete access to our storage? This was especially concerning because my husband's military gear was all in the storage and it felt completely invasive and unprofessional with the way they addressed it. We were also charged rent twice on our last month of living there before PCSing. Again, extremely inconvenient because how does that even happen when we lived there for months prior and never had that be an issue before? The issues only continued after we moved. They claimed we gave them a notice of PCSing on the 12th of July when my husband went in person to let them know that we will be out of the apartment by July 1st and he provided his PCS orders. They contacted us to let us know that just because we moved out doesn't mean we don't need to pay (their wording as well. Again, unprofessional). We did not owe rent, and provided proof of who we spoke to and the online form that was filled out with our updated move out date. They tried negotiating and asking if we could "meet in the middle" of the payment which we refused because WE DID NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING. We had to contact the company that owns the apartments (New Earth Residential) because at one point they were not answering our calls or messages . They cleared our charges after WEEKS of arguing, and we agreed to pay the cleaning fee of $155, and thank goodness we took screenshots of EVERYTHING and have bank statements because it doesn't end there. They sent our account over to collections without our knowledge, without notice at all for the amount of $155! I'd like to add that we had NEVER missed a rent payment and always paid our dues. The staff seems extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Definitely find somewhere else to live. You can probably find somewhere cheaper in the area that is hopefully more organized and won't have continuous issues with four months AFTER you've moved out. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX TO ANYONE!"
"Friendly and helpful staff. I've had good interactions with them 95% of the time. The management, likely from the higher company, leaves a lot to be desired. You are signing up for a higher and smaller apartment than you would get elsewhere. You will also be paying for the maintenance of the common areas. The dog park is a cool idea but is definitely more of a pen. The fitness area is... not something anyone actually serious about fitness would ever use. Likewise, the pool is a neat idea, but I'm not ever going to use it. I won't use the computer lab either, but it's cool that they have that available for tenets, so I don't mind supporting that. Your lease agreement will be around 75 pages of policies assigning just about every responsibility and risk to you alone. One clause is that you have to provide a written notification to revoke your consent to their use of pictures, video, or written statements by/of you or minors residing with you. Creepy. Finally, I have had maintenance personnel show up without prior notification to renovate my bathroom. Typically, they are good about providing forewarning, but there are exceptions."
