Reviews of Hale House
"Terrible management. Rent only rises despite the building falling apart and the homelessness problems. Don't live here unless you are ok with seeing feces and used needles every day."
"If you’re a felon, have a poor rental history, or if your credit was beat up during the pandemic, then A Pomeranz will work with you. Otherwise, the $100 you might save per month isn’t worth dealing with abusive landlords, pests, and rampant issues with the local homeless population. The A Pomeranz business model is built on taking advantage of tenants who have no other options. You’ll see other reviews regarding A Pomeranz Realty. Unfortunately, the negative reviews are correct. It’ll be a constant fight with Dan & Amy, and they will go out of their way to extract every dollar they can from their tenants. The property managers employ Tschetter Sulzer for their legal matters, which should be enough to deter any potential tenants. If you are unaware of that law firm, they handle something like 90% of all tenant evictions in Denver. Their bread and butter is making sure families are on the streets as efficiently as possible. Reach out to any non-profit organization serving Denver Metro poverty cases, and they will confirm this. If you have a disability, or require reasonable accommodations for your special needs, then look elsewhere or have your attorney on retainer. Some pests are generally expected when living on a basement level. That being said, Hale House has some pretty severe issues with ants, centipedes, and silverfish. The maintenance team is quick to respond and they do a good job. Just be ready to call them often. The neighbors were polite during my rental, but the walls are thin and the floors need work. You’ll hear your fellow tenant’s TVs, conversations, and movements very clearly. For some reason this property just can’t come up with a consistent way to manage the local homeless. I don’t mean that the homeless frequent the neighborhood, I mean that they just move in to the garages and alleys and there is a constant flow of people coming in to get high and then stumbling away. On multiple occasions I watched people pass out halfway in and out of the dumpsters while digging around in them. For a building that has an ex-cop as a manager, they just have no real solutions to ensure any safety for their tenants whatsoever. Sorry, but going out to my car and seeing the building manager in a bulletproof vest clearing out drug nests doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in management. There are other apartments within the same vicinity that are cleaner, quieter, better maintained, and properly managed for extremely competitive costs. A Pomeranz, Dan, and Amy are absolutely not worth the brain damage they cause. Spend the extra $100 a month and live elsewhere."
"I am paying $1700 for two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a pet at this location. The washing machine is $2.00 and the dryer is $1.50. All rent in Denver is overpriced and valued far beyond what the location and amenities are worth. The unhoused people living out of the garages of the adjacent buildings have proven to be largely harmless after a year of living here, although they are loud. That being said, this is the first place I've lived where both the heating and cooling of the building are sufficient to handle the dramatic changes of the local weather, and I've never had an issue with pests or pest control."
