Reviews of Columbine Village At Arvada
"Heater has been broken for weeks with a real loud noise. Wakes you up at night. Maintenance takes very long time to fix things. Take caution and check out everything thoroughly."
"Sherry the latest manager is the best so far. She's on the ball She gets all work orders done . Very professional and does walk through a down the hallways. Keeps us seniors safe !"
"I have not had a working dishwasher since August 2020. It's been 10 months. I contact either Claudia or Linda Martinez every month. Same placating response. Have had 3 different maintenance persons check out the unit.. No results ."
"It's a crime. Literally. My friend and I were so excited that there was an apartment available. Of course it had to be safe in all ways. She didn't need much. She had speaking difficulty due to a stroke. So it would be of paramount importance that when she communicates that the person she talks to has listening skills. She knows what she is saying even if a word is missing. By the way, SO DO I. And I am not missing any words. During the application process there didn't seem like anything could go wrong. One of the things we needed was from SSI. My friend could not remember her password. No problem. As I begin to speak Claudia interrupts me to tell me how to go about getting this information. I asked her 5 times to stop instructing me as I really didn't need her help with this. The problem wasn't knowing how to get this done. It was literally how to legally get this done. She was repeatedly telling me how to break the law. No kidding. And because she kept cutting me off and using the broken record communication style I could not get her to let go of her agenda. This completely kept my questions back burnered. So, in the end she said she could not understand me. Not letting someone speak has that affect. Everyone does this, right. Does everyone do this so much that after 12 days of being stonewalled I was heartbroken. I knew it wasn't safe. This is so abusive. Anyone who's ever lived with as person who couldn't see how they were harming someone by stonewalling knows what I am talking about. She thinks she is right. All attempts to communicate what I was saying were diverted. But get this, it was always diverted to her being in a superior position ( judging, deciding what to do and then telling met how to do what she thought) and instructing me on what to do about a problem I DID NOT HAVE. This is a good time to think about the fact that an elder woman, fully capable of knowing their own thoughts and decisions, put in this position after having a stroke, is the applicant I am assisting. Claudia still doesn't know what I was trying to say because she kept the conversation to instructing me like I was twelve. 5 times I asked to change the subject to hearing my questions. That's 5 times this woman was instructing me on how to break there law and access a senior citizens SSI account on line. Repeatedly she tells me "I do this all the time" and she is "just trying to help." Her desk is piles of paper and people's personal information in view. Her train of thought scattered and she brags about how she is changing things around there. How bad it was and how good she is making it. How she kept bugging "them" to give her more time to do her job. Wow. This is exhausting. Well superwoman, I'm helping too! I'm reporting your behavior to SSI authorities as you work at an over 62 years of age community and I feel you are a danger to our more vulnerable citizens. I would NEVER subject someone I care about to this behavior. P.S. she is so busy instructing me and doing for me that she doesn't understand me. She thinks speaking over me and telling me that we have until Monday to get the paperwork in is what I am looking for. I said this isn't going to work. And that's her comeback. Yep. Her agenda. Are you kidding. We didn't "need" we are not "needy"' there isn't "desperation" here to fit the amount of condescending behavior Claudia is interjecting. She isn't helpful. She hurt my best and most important friend by being the one reason we declined the apartment. I know she didn't hear me. I said NO. Your abuse is why we withdrew. Your offer to wait until Monday has nothing to do with reality. My reality has to do with the fact that having given you the opportunity to hear what I had not been able to say, you refused to be informed. Your offer is mute. Your demand that I give you a yes or no answer after ignoring me was a feeble attempt to coerce. Have a great day. We are!"
"A good friend lived here for many years. She loved living here. It's safe, clean, quiet and has many amenities not available in other senior apartments. I visited many times and I only wish they rented to 55 and over. About the time I qualified by age I found they raised the age to 62. Bummed by that, but I hope when I turn 62 that they haven't changed the age because I will be ready to move in on my 62nd birthday!!"
