Reviews of The Madison Apartments at Canyons
"I am in the process of trying to sell my condo and because of interest rates I'm not looking to buy again right now so I've been looking in the area for apartments. I stopped by the Madison to look at the two bedrooms and there I met Aubree, Hanna and Nicole (spelling?) in the leasing office. They were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The office and community is absolutely beautiful and very well taken care of. It doesn't even feel like apartments to me. It feels more like a condo community. I really loved the two bedroom and they had a very good deal going. However, since I haven't sold my condo yet, I'm reluctant to apply. As soon as I have a closing date, I will be back to start the application process and hopefully they will still have the deal going on the two bedroom that I want."
"Our experience started with a tour from Aumbree, who is a pleasure to work with and very helpful. Our overall experience here has been very positive. We found the leasing team eager to find solutions to any issues that come up. There are a good amount of new employees but they have been very helpful and will find answers if they don't know them right away. The place is beautiful and cozy. The Canyons area is quiet, peaceful and lovely with plenty of pretty walking trails and friendly people (and deer and cows) around."
"It was good start when we had a tour and complete a lease contract at early of this year. Although there were still some buildings under construction, the building we moved in seemed to be ready for residents. But soon or later, we had many critical issues of A/C functionality, building construction both on inside and outside, flooding in 1st floor and many garages. we haven`t experienced this kind of issue before in anywhere. And plus, there were multiple changes of management team in 2023 which mean it is pretty hard to keep the communication. As we can see the pictures attached, it is the status on my APT building now! No one can believe this is ready for people. By considering full monthly lease payment of high cost, it is unbelievable status of APT. Not really valuable with this price. We hope all these construction issues will be resolved soon or later."
"We moved in mid-July, so I have waited to complete this review. Access to your building, unit, and amenities is all via fob. There is no actual key. At first, I thought this was brilliant until you walk out the door without your keys and realize the door locks behind you immediately. There is an afterhours number you can call if you get locked out after the office is closed. There is a deadbolt, but there is no key provided for it. You can only lock it from the inside. The initial aesthetic is fantastic, the views, the style… However, everything is cheap, built poorly, and falling apart. Examples: the plumbing fixtures are not the advertised Moen. The flooring is peeling up. There was an unfinished transition area between our living room and patio door they filled with 3 inches deep of latex material. It looks terrible. Our patio door is gas a large gap with sky visible, water flooding in every time it storms. (I sent in a high – priority maintenance request for this issue and it took 5 weeks for them to come “fix it”) Almost all my cabinet hinges have come apart and aren’t soft closing as advertised. A lot of my cabinet doors were installed crooked. The main hallway is not cleaned well. Our AC went out and I submitted a fix request. I was told that I was using it incorrectly and the settings were wrong. I do know how to work a thermostat. Our AC continued to not work, and after two months and multiple visits it was finally fixed. The pool/pool house area are beautiful. There is a great view from there and a small grass area. Dumpsters are always overflowing, bags laying around, and large items taking up all the space. Door to door trash valet was advertised, NOT an amenity feature here. The dog area is small and all gravel. There is a bench, but no shade. For the size of the community, I expected larger and having grass as pictured in the photos. They do provide bags in multiple areas throughout the community but they’re often empty. The pet area itself is gross and smells bad. It is always covered in waste. Residents are failing to clean up after their own dogs, but the staff is failing to hold residents accountable and clean the areas regularly. We did pay for a dog DNA service. We were told this was for a program where they would send out dog waste that has been left out or not cleaned up by owners to quickly ID the dog and its owners. I do not see this being utilized at all so why did we pay for it? Construction team leaves trash everywhere. I picked up 30 nails from in front of my garage area one day. They also speed through the community in their vehicles. I’ve spoken with many residents and have heard of their apartments/garages flooding and issues with mice. So far, we have not had these issues, but we do live on the top floor. I have seen doorways flooded during big storms and saw water gushing out of garages. Now that it is winter, the road/parking area in front of our building is always a large sheet of ice. There is little done about it. ALMOST everyone in the office has no idea what is going on. I will go there for a question/concern and am met with answers like, “I don’t know” “Let me find a manager” “I am just a leasing agent”. There is never a straight answer given and rarely follow up from anyone unless you continuously follow up yourself or nag. They do a fantastic job at making you feel like you are interrupting, they don’t have time for you, or that you’re not important. They NEVER answer the phone. Conclusion: Besides the very few pros mentioned above, here are a couple more; very quiet community, walking distance to a park and some paved paths, quick access to the highway, a nice gym and pool area. The cons HEAVILY outweigh the pros. There has been much promised with little delivery and several false advertisements. You’re overpaying for what seems to be a luxury apartment but, is a failure waiting for lawsuits to happen. Don’t move here, and if you can leave. This place has only gotten worse. I will continue to hope it gets better and will update my review if needed."
"Despite a lot of negative reviews, I thought I could offer a different perspective. First off, yes the complex is still under construction. Is this sometimes an inconvenience, yes, but everyone that lives here knows that when they sign the lease. It is very clear. As of recent, they have greatly improved communication with construction and this transparency has been appreciated. As of my overall experience, it's been overwhelmingly positive. I use the amenities daily and the community is overall very respectful of the spaces along with management conducting routine upkeep. Have people had select problems, yes. Buildings have flooded and pests have been a problem. These people are more likely to leave a negative review. My experience has been the opposite and I've enjoyed my time here."
