"I grew up in Douglas County, I rode buses my entire school time with them. I went to school K-12. So, when sending my own children on the bus I assured them that it would be a positive experience. However, I have 2 special needs kids. One has graduated, one will graduate on Friday. When my first child rode that has special needs it was a fairly positive experience. The driver that he has was pretty amazing, however the special needs transportation department had some issues. My son was not going to just get better and be able to ride a typical school bus, but every year there was a problem getting him on a special needs route. There was always an excuse, and very late communication. Fast forward to my next special needs child. There was nothing but issues from the get go with him. Late routes, drives just forgetting him, routes being wrong, to finally car services being used. The worst part was the car services were never on time, and the transportation department did little to rectify the situation. At least until my son, who is blind, was not dropped off at school, and was left in a drivers vehicle 20 minutes from the school in that drivers driveway. My son is blind so he could not see where he was, I reported it, but it took my husband 2 hours driving around trying to help my son use his find my iphone in order to find him. I got an apology. I am glad that my son is no longer in the school district, Douglas County has gone way down hill and I am almost embarrassed to say that we are a long time dougco family, I mean I graduated in 1989, so its been since the 70's that we have been in the district. Douglas County, you need to do better!!"

"Canceled bus routes for 2nd year in row. Only district that charges for bus rides. We pay tax to have schools and reliable transportation for our kids yet frequent emails and excuses about driver shortages. Incompetent people in charge."

"This location is great. I met with two ladies (Annmarie and her service dog Reba and kerri) from the transportation Dept. And they were great, Very polite and professional. I would feel great and have no worries at all if my Child rode with them on the school bus everyday. We need more people like them that work hard for very little and love the children they not only transport but Protect everyday. Remember to show respect to those who work hard every day to transport your precious cargo to and from as well as getting to know each and everyone of them as family as well as Yourself in the few moments if ever you help your little ones on. So during these troubled times and Holiday season I encourage You to just take a moment to just say Hi and thank you. Smiles are optional due to mask."
