"If I can give a -10 in stars, I would. However, since the lowest is 1 star, then 1 star it is. I’m writing this review so that the next person could avoid any additional stress, disappointment, and financial loss due to this company. I will share from what happened to me, and of course the reader gets to choose what to do with this information. I did a state – to – state move (includes packing, storage, and moving) with North American Van Lines representative STS Relocation/STS Moving and Storage/Seevers Moving in Longmont, CO, on Francis St. First off, the packers came. I was told they only needed one day to pack. They needed two days. The packers also stole items, little things that I noticed (two phone chargers that were on the kitchen counter), at first. Figure they at least packed rest of my stuff. I was wrong, of course. Then came the “professional mover” who broke my dining table right in front of my eyes! I yelled at him to put the table down. He bent the table in half, vertically, straight up, when the table was to have been sliding side to side. He acted like he’s never moved a table like that. Next came a mover who said to my face that the bed frame takes too long to “disassemble,” so I should think about buying a new one so they don’t have to “reassemble it at the other end.” Little red flags, of course. Once I received the goods at the other end, I found the following: 1. The bedframe was broken! The wooden piece that was broken was attached to a metal frame! I’m thinking, did the guy seriously deliberately break this piece so the bed can’t be rebuilt???? He did. An elephant had to have fallen on it to break it there! The Claims department, of course, did not give me a full value to replace the bed. 2. My dining table could not be assembled, because the table piece was broken. Not shocking there at all. The mover broke it. 3. A dining chair was broken, on the back of the chair. Did an elephant step on the back of the chair? Why was the chair’s back broken, and none of the other parts of the chair broke? What? 4. There was a “Parts Box,” where all the hardware for the items they disassembled were kept. There were no parts box to be found. Numerous items were left disassembled; beds (4), TV stand, dining table, desks (2). Filing a claim took time and money, for something that could have been avoided. To me, lack of professionalism all around! Now, the worst of them all is this part. I started to receive notices in the mail of violations for one of my car’s license plate. The ones that WERE in my position, in my house. Why were they “missing,” and creating these violations in another state? First came a parking ticket, then a toll violation, and then another moving violation. I called DMV up and they told me I had to report it to the police as stolen plates. I did that, and also reported to the Claims Department, hoping they would remove these movers from their “representation.” Instead, they tell me they “had” to tell the local movers. I told them that the police are trying to locate them, so with their “telling the local movers,” that’s “aiding and abiding” the crime!! They went ahead and did that, and refused to reimburse me for the additional plates I had to purchase again for my car! So, that’s items stolen, identity in question, and claims denied. Even if they “claim” insurance will cover it, that is not so. I’ve moved cross continent over 6 times. It took some real effort to be this bad at something you’re supposed to be good at! In total, over 10 furniture items were broken and/or needed repair. All and all, it was one of the worst moves of my entire life. If I can save one person from having to experience this, then I’ve done one thing right."
"My biggest problem with my experience was with how different the process was from the path laid out to me by Tim. I was very clear about being concerned that day-labor would be responsible for loading and uploading my belongings and despite being assured that rarely happens and arranging for their employed movers to be used, there was a huge miscommunication and the driver Julio ended up hiring day-laborers to do the loading and unloading. Ugh! So annoyong. The loaders weren't terrible, but the unloaders at the destination were the absolute worse and complained the whole time like children and caused a bunch of damage with their carelessness. Unfortunately, no one seems to want to accept accountability for any damages, imagine that. By the way Nancy was very nice and helpful throughout the process and while the experience was very disappointing, frustrating, and had issues, I am still thankful everything worked out and still think STS relocation is probably the best option in the area. Good luck and hopefully everything goes smoothly for you during the move."
"My recent experience with North American Van Lines has left me deeply dissatisfied. Despite assurances of timely delivery, my belongings arrived five days late, causing significant inconvenience. Even more troubling was the discovery that several items, including my TV, were missing likely stolen during transit cause we received an empty TV box. Other items and boxes were damaged. We filed a claim but I received only a fraction of the TV's value as compensation (~$30 cause they reimburse by weight unless you pay extra for higher insurance). They promised a full reimbursement, but I haven’t received the promised $450 check, and it appears that North American Van Lines is not acting in good faith. I appreciate the prompt handling of the delayed delivery claim but what about the missing and the stolen items? I have made multiple attempts to seek resolution through phone calls, nothing but lies. I urge you not to request further details from me, as all requested information has already been provided. Please address these issues promptly and responsibly."
"We’ve used North American to move at least 6 times and other than minor issues we were always been satisfied. Until now, this company was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! They lied, didn’t show up as scheduled and did not complete their job. My best advice is to RUN away from this business. If I could have given negative stars it would have been a -5"
"This company parks their trucks in the entrance of our neighborhood in Longmont Colorado. They make the roadway tight and dangerous because they can’t afford something other than the street parking for 3-6 semi trucks… Thanks for spilling a bunch of oil in our residential streets cause your drivers are too cheap. I truest hope your company goes bankrupt, getting out of our neighborhood would make said neighborhood a safer place."
