"Superb garden nursery for native Colorado plants, shrubs, and trees. The owner especially is so knowledgeable. I drove about 40 miles to get there and it was so worth it as I live at about 7,300 feet in the foothills and wanted native plants and seeds."
"I waited for quite a while for someone to help me and was overlooked to serve other customers who arrived after me. When I finally met with a staff, I felt their advice was vague and unhelpful even though I gave specifics for my planting conditions. I did my best with their information and bought three starters because of the soil requirements outlined by the Harlequin-made signs on-site, but they all did very poorly at home. After doing my own research, I found the soil requirements were completely different (sandy soil) than what was recommended by the nursery (most soil types including clay) and feel this contributed to the plants' failure."
"For years other nurseries have been recommending that I go to Harlequin's for plants they don't carry. Sure enough, today I found cholla's which no one else has."
"When they say cold hardy, they mean it! I nervously planted some starts this spring right before the low temps dipped back to the teens and 20s with rain and snow, and all the babies are doing just fine. I traveled from Fort Collins because this is the only nursery that carries the native plants I needed, like Howard's evening primrose. Also, it's the only nursery that made sure plants were cold hardy AND clearly labeled native/non-native plants. For all the push towards xeric and native plants by my city, this is the only nursery (and it's not even in my city) that has impressed me with how easy they made it to find what I needed."
