"Now renamed APEX Accounting & Tax Services, was Phases Accounting & Tax Services is a NOT a company you should use at all. I placed my personal tax needs in their hands believing I was working with Professionals as I had used Debbie and Phases for many years. But then something has changed. I turned my tax paperwork in over a month ago with questions that have never been answered. Phone calls never returned. Emails never responded to. Since changing to Apex my tax preparer has changed 3 times in 3 months due to their office turnover. There has been one consistent employee that has been easy to work with, however she does not do tax preparation so this is not on her. This is not a company I would feel comfortable working with ever again."

"I would give them ZERO Stars if I could. Now renamed APEX Accounting & Tax Services, was Phases Accounting & Tax Services is a NOT a company you should feel comfortable having your personal information. I placed my business and personal tax needs in their hands believing I was working with Professionals. But that all changed with the NEW OWNERSHIP. I started getting letters over the last 3 months from the IRS with penalties and interest stating that my tax return had errors and unreported income. These letters and corrections have cost me so much money. Not to mention the time and frustration of trying to get a person to respond to your requests over there. I have had unanswered phone messages, unanswered emails, unreturned phone calls. I have them do the taxes for my parents who I am the primary care givers for as well as my son. I gave them the tax info over a month ago with questions that have never been answered. I have sent them the letters from the IRS that I have received since the NEW OWNERSHIP started doing my payroll and taxes and have gotten ZERO RESPONSE. There has been one consistent employee that has been easy to work with, however she does not do tax preparation, so this is not on her. This is not a company I would feel comfortable working with ever again and will never have them do ANYTHING for my family ever again."

"ADDED IN RESPONSE TO NANCY SPELGATTI'S RESPONSE: Nancy called me this morning to threaten me if I didn't remove my review. Everything I complained about below happened and I have emails to prove it all. Nice try to say I was doing something fraudulent. That's one way to try and cover your incompetence. To say you have no affiliation with Phases is an understatement, since you were physically in the Springs office when I spoke to you and your office up north said you were the owner of the Springs office, plus the trade name registrations are related and you are changing your name from Phases to Apex AND I fired you yesterday, so you are right, I am no longer a client. Last year Apex Accounting acquired Phases Accounting in Colorado Springs which has now changed their name to Apex Accounting. (All confirmed searching Dept of Revenue.) This complaint is lodged against the Colorado Springs office. I’m posting it here since Apex Acctg. will be their name moving forward and I don’t want this complaint hidden under the old company name (Phases Acctg. - which has NUMEROUS similar complaints.) I cannot express how terrible they have all been. Liars! Deadlines missed. Taking money for services not performed. Basically just lip service to string you along. Been going on for the entire month of Feb 2024. Finally fired them. File IRS Form 14157 - Return Preparer Complaint if you find yourself in the same situation."
