Reviews of Community College Of Denver
"As much as I love getting an education and my professors, CCD has ensured that my entire experience at this school would be ROUGH. This is my 4th semester and I’ve had FIVE ADVISORS because people keep leaving and shuffling students around. Because of having so many advisors, I’ve been told contradictory things along the entire way. It’s really disheartening to not have anyone be able to tell me what’s going on and make sure I’m on the right track. I’ve had to figure it all out on my own."
"If you are considering attending at CCD, think again. I have had a horrible experience from start to finish as a student here. I am out of state so I had LOTS of issues pertaining to my tuition. I switched majors once and dropped the classes I did not need anymore and they charged me over $2,000 for that semester, out of pocket. This most recent semester, they tried saying I was “ineligible” for government financial aid, and even ineligible for student loans, and are now charging me over $3,000 out of pocket for the classes that I took. At no point during this semester did an advisor or financial aid reach out to me to clarify this issue. If you don’t want ridiculous cost and fees and virtually NO help in combatting this issues, please do not attend this college. I will be switching to a different college after this experience."
"Couldn't find the Community College of Denver somebody walking around on campus pointed me to the right direction by the church and I found it and when I got inside the Community College of Denver they were very helpful in pointing me into the right direction."
"I wanted take one math class at CCD just get 3 or 4 college credits. OMG, math classes looks so much harder. I wish CCD didn't removed pre algebra. I had called many times and went down there no help give you run around. They even don't help students prepare for accuplacer test, no tuto rs, nothing.Students prepare sheets of papers of the accuplacer test nothing else. CCD no help for new students try help with accuplacer test."
"1. I moved to the Colorado and didn’t have residency but they advertised that you could apply a year later to get in-state tuition. However, they DON’T approve it. I was given to many excuses and had to keep getting more paperwork for them to tell me that no matter what I did I would not get residency with them. This college is thirsty for money as they have a lot of debt and employees will tell you different things. 2. I also tried joining their TRIO SSS and I was told I was not able to join because my parents are not from here and they don’t do taxes back home. Well, the director of the club met me when I was about to graduate and told me that that wasn’t the case but it was too late because their requirement is to serve students for at least 2 semesters. 3. I applied to their general scholarship with no luck so decided to go to their scholarship writing workshop and after telling this old lady my background, she responds with “oh you are one of those”. I never went back and gave up on getting help financially"
