Reviews of Snow College
"I will write two reviews because my experience with the school and my experience with cafeteria are two completely opposing ones. I love the school but the cafeteria system is ridiculous, do not EVER purchase a meal plan here: apart from only having fried options, apart from salad bar that does not function during weekends and occasional salads at the fridge that is often empty it is just not cut out for your needs. It is never open during holidays and while they warn you about this early on, you are not warned that during weekends it is only functioning 5pm-7pm, closing the register 5-10 mins earlier, so if you rush to get food till 7, you might not get it. It regularly lacks some options, usually if they run out of something on Tuesday/Wednesday, you won’t see it till next week. The swipe system is ridiculous as most prices are not even stated and you have to ask every time if you want to purchase a packaged something, and they get IRRITATED because you take up time. Hot drinks apparently are not substitutions for fountain ones even though workers stated differently previously. I had to talk to police because I was accused of theft while paying for a 17 (the highest possible) meal plan and being completely unsatisfied with the quality of food. Sometimes it is really great, they try to do themed days and daily specials are great but it is just not worth the money. Considering that most students cannot escape it while living on-campus (most dorms require it), this should be changed immediately. I have not met a single international student who was satisfied with it. As a friend of mine said, “you just eat for the sake of eating and your money, filling yourself up with something obviously unhealthy and unreasonably priced”. I understand that food service must not be easy with the inflation but maybe it is better to serve less options with better quality. I am grateful for most workers (people at the fry station and cashiers) as they do great job and are always there for you during work hours but the place lacks basic things like explanation of the prices, how lunches/breakfasts in here work. You just find everything out through apparently being accused of being a bad person while you just want to eat. Another scenario that I had was adding lettuce (as ALSO is described in another review dated FOUR months ago, obviously nothing changed), on top of a sandwich as we were told that it is for burgers only. The lady told me that it is stealing. How can it be if it was not stated anywhere at the time that this layout is for burgers ONLY and everybody does it anyway? Why is it easier for them to make you feel like a horrible person while you pay for everything and try to just go through your studies? I understand that this is an emotional review but I have had a horrible experience with this and I don’t want to stay silent about it."
"It is a good College. The town is really boring and you cannot do almost nothing in the town. No parties, no being with friends after 12 on a SATURDAY. But the college is ok. Be careful that advisors want you to stay as many years as they can. So they will enroll you in classes that doesn’t fulfill your core so you will need to stay for more semesters than expected paying the tuition. This is really horrible. If you come, live off campus and do not get any swipes and cook at your home. They are always changing the size of the plates. Snow College, you should not earn money from the cafeteria. You are earning with tuition, housing, etc. leave the cafeteria free of earnings. You cannot charge me one more swipe that cost $5 just for adding some lettuce. This is ridiculous. If you change the things I said you will be a better place."
"Never go to this place if you are an International student or someone who wants to have a real college experience. I had one of the worst experiences in my life here. People were bullying me and authorities are racist, weak, and unfair. Please also be very aware with the cops, they abuse their power and are racist as well. The little town sucks. The Biology 1620 professor was the worst I have ever had."
"Best educational experience I’ve had! It’s a quality education where you can finish your generals for a fraction of the cost that other universities charge. Plus Ephraim has the lowest student housing costs in Utah, so you really do save a lot by going here. Plus, this campus is beautiful and quaint, with really helpful professors and administrators dedicated to helping you succeed. Being in a small town is a challenge for a lot of people from big cities, but at least from my prospective, it helped me study better since there were fewer distractions. The student body is overall very good and friendly, more-so here than other universities and colleges in the state due to its smaller enrollment size (about 4,000 when compared to tens of thousands elsewhere). So you’re likely to make close friends here, get better grades, and transfer to a larger school with the possibility of getting great transfer scholarships! This really is the best junior college in the country! I’d recommend at least everyone to look into it."
"Snow College is a fantastic way to start college. Its small size is perfect because you get a lot of one-on-one time with professors. You also know that your professors care and they go out of their way to be helpful and make it the best experience possible."
