"I would be EXTREMELY careful with the samples you receive from RealStone. We unfortunately had a regrettable experience with some expensive natural stone and some less than honest business practices. We were provided a limestone sample by RealStone that we really loved. Despite the high cost, the sample was so beautiful and we loved the natural stone appearance, so we decided we could not refuse it and took the hit to our budget and purchased the natural limestone based on this sample we loved so much. When the limestone arrived it was soon discovered after installing in the front of the house, there were extreme various shades with very few resembling the sample we were sold on. The sample provided to us was from a pallet from a lot dated 2017. We received just one pallet from 2017, while the rest were from 2020-2021 (pictures with dates attached). The difference in the limestone was night and day. The limestone was certainly not cheap and it did not feel good to be so excited about our chosen limestone only to find out when the stone had been installed it no longer existed! We made multiple exterior decisions including paint, exterior wood and roofing, based on this sample provided as well. Upon seeing the significant difference in color we immediately communicated to RealStone that: -We paid the price we paid for the natural limestone based on the sample that was provided to us at the time of purchase. -Never once were we told the limestone would come from multiple years and could vary so significantly and we would receive lots up to 4 years different from the sample provided. -Not once did they disclose to us the quarry sample provided was from 2017. -We expected some natural stone variation, and we liked that element of the natural stone, however these pallets were cut from different lots over a 4 year period with EXTREME variation in color and appearance. -Had they honestly provided an accurate/current sample of the current lot date, we would have seen it is too dark and would have not paid the price we did for the limestone that was actually delivered. RealStone did not take any accountability except to replace the one pallet from 2017, the tile we thought we were getting:( as it looked completely different from all the other limestone we received from more current year lots. Considering the cost of this product, the fact that this is a focal point of our exterior and we planned so many other design elements around the 2017 sample (which we were never told was from 2017), we felt we needed to share our unfortunate experience. Their lack of disclosure dramatically effected the appearance of our new home construction. The dark limestone is up and not as intended and we are disheartened to have been a part of such a dishonest transaction. In the end, we paid over 40k for a limestone based on a sample that was NOTHING like what we received and received zero accountability from RealStone as their business practices does not integrate honesty and customer satisfaction."
