Reviews of Colorado Springs Neurological Associates
"I am not one to write a review, but I saw Dr. McDonald and it was truly the worst doctors experience I have ever had. My experience with the practice as a whole was just shocking. To start, the receptionist was telling me how much she wanted to go home and cussing as she was trying to figure out my insurance. Then, a good while later, the nurse came out and asked the receptionist, “Is she ready yet? Because he [the doctor] is ready to get out of here.” My appointment was 100% reflective of that. After the nurse rushed me into a room, Dr. McDonald barged in and was stumbling over his words because he was talking so fast. I could not get a full sentence out without him cutting me off. I had a strange migraine episode where I lost my memory and had been referred by the ER which was the main reason for my visit. I was trying to explain what happened during the migraine attack but he would try to finish my sentences for me and moved on to the next question before I had a chance to correct him. The worst part was when Dr McDonald was rushing me through his tests. I followed along for the touch your toes, stand up, sit down, walk on your tip toes, walk on your heels, touch my finger, touch your nose- the typical things but it was a dance to try and keep up with him. Dr. McDonald then pulls a safety pin from his desk and, with no warning, comes at my face and pokes my cheeks with it. Then proceeds to poke my feet and my arms. I was genuinely so shocked to the point that I couldn’t find words. To top everything off, he ended my visit with asking me “would it make you feel better if you got an MRI”… I would not know because I am not the doctor. I did not feel, in any way, that I got a true evaluation. I was simply a box for him to check off. I waited weeks for this appointment and he could not have rushed me out of there any faster. I have been calling Tanya, the clinic manager, for over a week to explain how bad this experience was and to see what I can do. Can I can get a refund? Can I see a different doctor to get a real evaluation? I am still waiting, over a week later, to hear from her."
"I go to the one at penrose on North Nevada. The nurses and front desk ladies are awesome. Bringing concerns to the doctor, no let me correct that the doctors pa I went unheard. I had a migraine for three days wasn't asked symptoms. She blames the seizures that are on going on my medication that I have been taking for two years and never one problem with them. My medical decision maker went unheard on things. Twice now. I never had seizures until this year. All I had done was a EEG and then a 72 hr EEG done. I've had migraines since I was 15 and I've been unheard on that as well. Didn't even get to tell the PA the symptoms of the migraine. I was seeing double vision it didn't hurt when I put pressure on my right Temple had double vision and that went away when pressure was put on right temple. A good doctor listens and does more tests not tell a patient to stop taking this med or that med and oh we are adding a prescription to the 5 you already take. Wouldn't listen to what I was saying on losing the three jobs I had because of seizures but the companies refuse to admit it. But I'm not doctor and I'm don't have a MD so I have no clue what I'm talking about with MY body. I've only seen Dr. Ales once I've seen his Pa Dr Pou twice now and Everytime I've gone unheard"
"The staff and medical professionals here are nice, which is why I gave it more than one star. As far as treatment, I saw Dr. McDonald for chronic dead arm at night. The second he latched onto the opinion that it was due to carpel tunnel, he considered no other options. He put me through a second nerve test to test his theory. Even though the test results did not support his theory, he still basically said "Oh well, I think that's what it is anyway" making me feel like it was an insurance grab. Every concern was brushed off, and every doubt was swept under the rug. After seeking a second opinion and pursuing PT, I learned that my instinct was correct - my dead arms at night was because my collar bone was pressing on an artery, which a PT specialist learned after asking me detailed questions about my symptoms. Every other medical professional I saw agreed that my symptoms did not match carpel tunnel."
"Worst patient care that I have ever had! Office staff is incompetent to follow up and return calls. Dr. Bhatti and his PA Ben Williams treat you like you are just a number. They have far too many patients to offer good patient care. I fought with this office for 2 plus months regarding my spinal fusion. I then decided to get a second opinion with UCHEALTH in Denver had my surgery approved, scheduled and completed within 3 weeks."
