Reviews of Bridge House
"This place is amazing, I loved being there. I have been inpatient there 3 separate times, and everytime I left feeling so much better. The staff are so supportive and kind. They care about the little things that make you more comfortable. I never felt like the staff were inconvenienced by my requests. I got whatever I needed fairly quickly. I had a roommate that snored so loud and they moved me to a different room I didn’t even ask them to do that. Lots of privacy, you can shut the door and be alone when you shower, the bathrooms are stalls like any you’d see in public, and staff aren’t allowed in your room. The therapy groups are great its solution-focused therapy, with compassionate therapists Psychiatrists were warm and listened to me. (For the most part) Same with nurses, and medical providers. You meet with the psychiatrist everyday, and a therapist every 3 days, plus case managers are usually available. If you smoke nicotine you can get a patch and lozenges every 2 hours which was really nice and enough for me. No smoke breaks though that part kinda sucks. There are lots of things to keep you busy, groups, TV, video games, arts and crafts, puzzles, board games. You get a journal, and you can have your phone (camera covered) for most of the day. There is a really nice view from the balcony and they’ll take you outside to play basketball. I enjoyed that a lot. The food was decent, nothing special but not bad. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and crackers always available. you get 3 snacks and meals per day with juice, and you don’t have to earn snacks by doing what they want you to unlike other places. It’s very clean, they have a great cleaning crew even they were nice. As for the things I didn’t like the towels are super small, 2 therapists and 1 psychiatrist was dismissive but that was the minority. There is a bit of a lack of consistency among staff some let you have certain belongings or whatever some don’t. And they say 4 therapy groups a day, but sometimes there was only 2 or 3. Also when I was admitted from the walk-in center I waited for 6-8 hours to actually get on the unit. I will say it is a lower level of care than a hospital would be, for me thats all I need but maybe some people there is too much freedom. Either way the pros certainly outweighed the cons."
"I was discriminated against on 02/11/2024 the racist intake crew denied me re entry into the facility after I was AUTHORIZED TO DISCHARGE and get my property from elsewhere I was gone only an hour ...I am filing a racial discrimination lawsuit through my lawyer...I will never return to such a racist facility ever again ..I hate bridge house in little n"
"My first visit a year ago was amazing and extremely helpful. This second time around has been absolutely horrible. They refused to let me go to the hospital after being very sick (vomit and diarrhea) for 2.5 days. They ignored my requests for electrolytes to keep hydrated and playing cards to cope with having to be isolated. They all apologized for ignoring me after yelling at them that I wanted to go to the hospital and leave. They refused to let me go to the hospital even after expressing the extreme stomach and intestinal pain I was in. They finally allowed me to go to the hospital after 10 hours of level 20 pain but refused to give me my property or discard me even though I was voluntarily there and asked to be discharged. They stated I have to go back after the hospital visit where I will be held against my will until they want to release me. Many nurses admitted their services are very poor due to lack of training. I’ve witnessed the staff on their phones instead of monitoring the patients throughout the night and day. The whole facility is very unsanitary down to the toilets and showers. The staff even put patients and myself in danger when a male patient was running frantic in the hallways and trying to get into some of the females rooms including my own. The staff locked themselves in the hallway nurses station as the male patient was trying to force himself into my female neighbors room. The staff heard her screaming for help and they did nothing but protect themselves. I am currently writing this while in the hospital because I am in fear of my life when I have to go back to get the rest of my property which includes my car and house keys. The hospital I am in has told me I am free to leave after they treatment me and that Bridge house is known to doing this all. Mind you to whoever is reading this, Bridge House didn’t even do an inventory of my property until being there for 24 hours. no intact instructions was explained and nurses admitted the poor service is due to lack of training."
"I thank God for Bridge House and for Santa Fe House in my recovery process. I recommend these treatment facilities when rest and support is needed in tough times and needing a break from hardships. My stay was received with the upmost card, patience and love. The staff in both facilities excellent care. Group sessions helpful in reengagement with men and women I met was helpful as supportive. I'm grateful to the entire management and staff for their dedication in being a bridge of hope that in time everything will be alright in my rebuilding in what happened. I'm grateful as I'm thankful to Bridge House and Santa Fe House in my recovery. God bless the entire management and staff and to men and women who take a break out of life to heal. Thank you, thank you, thank you all and my life has been positively impacted because of your loving kindness and care."
"I voluntarily checked myself in when life became too overwhelming and aside from being cold all the time, they were amazing! The check-in process takes time and is intimidating, but once you are in, the staff is beyond welcoming and they helped make it an easy comfortable transition. I do feel like more transparency would have helped with checking in because after speaking with them via phone when I arrived with personal belongings, some items weren't allowed after all and they said family can bring outside food to you but that wasn't allowed either. They allow you the free space to do as you please - meaning they don't force you to attend groups, but they have the days scheduled to keep you busy if you want to participate in group or social activities. They encourage you and your needs even if it is just a day of laying in bed or keeping to yourself. Everything is voluntary and the techs there made me feel accepted and more so that my feelings were valid. I felt safe and listened to. I finally felt human again. I was provided with A LOT of helpful information that I was able to take with me that will make coping with life more easy and was given the tools to best help my personal mental/emotional needs. I highly recommend this location for anyone in need - I was not suicidal and did not feel the need to hurt myself or others and they welcomed me with open arms while reassuring me that I was able to leave at any time. They are next to a beautiful green space with a nearby creek and we were allowed outside time which was huge for me. If I ever feel the need to take a timeout from life again, this will always be my first choice to go to for the help I need. They even helped me get appointments scheduled for follow-up after I had left their facility to ensure a smooth transition back into the real world. They went above and beyond for me when I needed it the most and I can't thank them enough for it. From what I saw while visiting, people feel negatively about these facilities when they aren't taking ownership of their own care. As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to the water but you can't make it drink. If you need help, tell them what it is you need to succeed - they aren't mind readers and can only help you with what they are made aware of! Even if you need more than they are able to help with, they can at least point you in the right direction."
