"I thought about letting this incident go, but if other patients are treated this way, then the company should address the problem. They sorely deserve a zero. I received an ill-fitting Exos brace from Avalanche Physical Therapy, in Frisco, CO. After calling them several times to see what could be done, they flat out refused. They wanted me to make an appointment even though I explained over and over what issue was, that I had already been seen, just please adjust the brace somehow. Nope, they wouldn't fix the brace or provide another. But this isn't the problem. Pause a moment - I'm out of pocket nearly $400 for this brace that I would be wearing for several months, so I had to do something. I also called my insurance company, who offered the same potential solution that I already tried, to no avail. I called the manufacturer - no they couldn't fix the one I had - but would replace it!!! Free of charge - hurRAH!!! They said they would find someone to come to my house, if that was acceptable - oh my, yes indeed! After several emails back and forth, they said I should expect a call from a company representative, but no they didn't know who yet. A few days passed and an odd message was left on my answering machine - she sounded like calling me was an imposition, and her tone indicated she hoped I wouldn't return her call, but at least she left her name, and no number. Good thing I have caller ID. I called her back, explaining the information I received from the manufacturer, that I was informed she would come to my house - but she kept interrupting. She had the audacity to ask how I got her number. (What in the world?) She refused to help, and wasn't interested in what I had been told, that she lived so far away - less than an hour - that there's no way she would / could come to my house after business hours. Due to the hours I worked, I couldn't be to her office during her available business hours. She offered no solutions! Her name is Emma Lister, the western sales rep from Total Orthopedics. What a stellar representative of the company she works for... Should you need such an item from a physical therapist, do your research and select wisely. I eventually did heal, even with a brace that fit so poorly and was quite painful."
