Colorado Urology - St. Anthony

"My issue is not with the Surgeons who I’ve known for 7 years while working @ St Anthony’s main Hosp. They are excellent. This is against the CO UROLOGY LAKEWOOD SURGERY CENTER. 255 ROUTT ST. They are not affiliated with the main St Anthony campus. I am a retired Surgical Technologist. I came out of retirement to help them & other Surgery Centers as I missed the job. While working for a temp agency called MEDELY, I was sent to 3 diff CO UROLOGY Surgery Centers. About 5 times I worked at the Lakewood. Various unsafe patient situations occurred. Mainly because of SPD’s incompetence in sterilizing the Cysto Instruments. While setting up a Prostate surgery, the ‘sterile’ instrument pan had a USED cutting Loop implement STILL in the operative part of the scope. Brought it to the Surgeons attention, he thanked me & we discarded the tray. When I notified the Charge RN who was at one of the other centers, she thanked me profusely. Weeks later I found out I was DNS (fired) from ALL the CO UROLOGY Surgery Centers. Is that incident something the center ALWAYS does, REUSING implements that the patients are paying? And I caught it? When I tried to reach her multiple times to find out what occurred she completely ignored my calls & texts. I then reached out to the KAnderson, & NThorton, Administrators at that office. Kate seemed concerned and promised to get back to me. She ignored me for months as well. She sent me an email telling me not to contact anyone, nor come into that building any further. I don’t care I was DNS’d, I simply want to know WHY? I saved that patient from a potential sepsis situation! Obviously something egregious is going on there. I did NOT contact the Dept of Health, Joint Commission or BBB, which other Surgeons advised me to do. But I will now!"

"Great experience with the doctor. Just had another appointment cancelled without my knowledge. 1st cancelled appt, I drove an hour from work, waited in the office 20-30 minutes until they called me over to tell me my appointment was cancelled before I had arrived. Figured it was a mistake, so I rescheduled for a couple weeks later. This time, I called ahead of time for my appt, and was told it was cancelled 3 weeks prior, but once again, no one from the office called, texted or emailed me (or even snail mail!!) to let me know. Thankfully I didn't drive another hour just to wait, so I have one more appt to see if 3rd time's the charm or if they've finally figured out their scheduling problems."

"Dr David J. Chan at Colorado urology is a money hungry doctor he’s not there to help he just wants your money. He spent more time telling me I should have my Covid vaccine after I asked about Covid bladder than dealing with my issue I was having that ended up being a prostate issue trying to bill me $400 for a 10 min virtual video chat that was useless and I should come in in a month and a half for a scope. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment days later at UC Health the doctors there charged less for an in person Visit with a bladder ultrasound and urine test with diagnosis don’t waste your time with this DR CON guys a joke"

I asked a lot of questions about impact both short and long term of the treatment options and received useful and candid feedback. I found all the staff very friendly and helpful."
